If you could, you'd be lucky. I'll open up the model real quick in max and let you know.

(--Realized you already said this...) The way it would be done, would be if those objects are already separated subobjects. if they are, you simply create a behavior to hide them, and then use the code you so desire to unhide them when the upgrade is triggered.

Side note- So you want torches to become visible when fire arrows are purchased? Cool touch. I might snag this idea for some buildings, if you don't mind. (Primarily evil buildings, such as towers. Would look really cool.)

I've renamed to the post .....

I want to bind MURngWrath to MUNazgul_SKL to use his anims

I've set up Renx finally and have the options to import and Export W3d models

I am currently following Rob38 Tutorial for binding

1. Import MURngWrath Model

2. Import MUNazgul_SKL Skeleton

3. Create the WWSkin

4. Add the bones to it from the list

5. Select the WWSkin and select Bind to Space Warp

6. Drag the Dotted line across the Model

I am supposed to

12. Click the Select and Move button (1). Select your character model (EUHALDIR). Hit the modify button (2). You should now see a bunch of blue dots on the model. Click and highlight the entire model. Now press the Auto-Link button (3).

I can make the Model have the Dots via Editable Poly = Vertex

But I can't get the option to Auto-link the Bone . Link by name etc ..

I may have gone into the wrong User Interface

What steps did I miss ? Where is the " Now press the Auto-Link button" hiding ?

Has your model been selected? (part 1 of step 12). When you click the modify button (part 2 of step 12), the blue dots on the model should automatically appear. The auto-link button should also appear.

Ok I will give a visual tour of the steps I took ...
I really want to get this !

Step 1 : Import MURngWrath Model

Renx startup

Adding the Model

Step 2 : Import MUNazgul_SKL Model

Import Skeleton

Step 3 : Align the Model a bit , Move it up

Align the model

Step 4 : Create the WWSkin

Create the WWSkin

Step 5: Bind to Space Warp

I only drag the dotted line over the model , although nothing seems to happen !

Binding to Space Warp

Step 7 : I click Select Move , then the object , But no Autolink button

this is the step that I'm stuck at ...

Look at the interface on the Right... I remember getting the option once but not sure how !

I'm Stuck, no autolink

I've messed around with the Textures and Decided this Will suffice !
I guess Skinning saved the Day !

When adding bones to the wwskin NEVER add the mesh. That will mess things up, and I suspect is your problem. Make sure only bones are selected. An easy way to do this, is to uncheck the geometry box in the add bones menu of the wwskin. Then only the bones will show, and you can select everything and click ok.

New Question : A Small One

What is the texture of the High Pass Falling tower Model

Model = PHPassTwr01

Model = PHPassTwr01_D2

I used AssetBuilder but it does not show a texture

Basically I want It Brown like a rock .. not Ice

Here's a tip, open up a model in w3d viewer, and make sure its the model WITHOUT the texture applied. Then press the little button next to open called Missing Textures. This will list ALL the textures that are applied to the model, but not showing in w3d viewer. So you can find the names of unknown textures this way.

I tried the Tip . I just click on the W3d file PHPassTwr01 and the Viewer opens up

But it then says no missing textures ..

A minor thing .. I want to give it a brown textutre for Gloins's new power in Showcase

Thakns for the Pic Kwen but I know the button

The problem may be that I have not correctly installedw3dviewer Maybe ..

I Double click on the W3d file and W3d viewer comes up ...

but still says no missing textures .. I don't even see the model ????

I open the Model in renx and save it ..

This I see in w3d viewer

I drag the W3d file onto an opened w3d viwer but still nothing ...

EDIT : I believe this is it phighpasstower01

I did it the hard way looking in the Textures :ph34r:

No clue why it doesn't work for you, sorry.

And for the record, the pic wasn't so much for pointing out the button, but for showing that as long as you have the model imported, and showing with no textures applied, then the button will work...

NEW TOPIC : Just Built Anims

I basically made a power that summons a Rock Tower from the ground

It is the PHPassTwr01 Model that collapses on enemies

I have all the stuff in-place and working with summon FX and Damage FX etc

-----------------------------------------------------------

To complete the power I want a AnimationState = JUST_BUILT for the model when Summoned

It must be similar to Undermine power where it rises from the ground ...

What I know in Renx :

1. How to Move / re-size / texture / save a model as a w3d file

A little help with this please ;)

EDIT : I seemed to have figure it out ... :xcahik_:

I was easier than I thought .. just use the animation tool and move the Model

New Question : I was trying to make a Harad Watch Tower :

I need help with this . I will break it into 4 parts

1. To create the Floor of the tower where the units stand : DONE

2. To create the Bones , 6 + one for the Banner

3. To create the built up anim : DONE

4. To skin / re-texture ( this will be easy as I've done skinning before )

But how to map the texture ... I can add it once I know what goes where

I am trying to learn renx slowly so post the tutorials etc and basic guides
I will try to create this from scratch !

The bones don't seem to work properly
The units clump together at the base

It seems the bones did not export with the skin because when I re-open it they are not there
What went wrong ???

You need two separate meshes (at least) :) For example, Gondor Fighter with the sword is a mesh, while the Shield is a separate mesh. Mesh, object.. whatever you want to call it :p

Did you set the bones to be Export Transform (Bone) and not Export Geometry? (in the W3D Export Settings)

Hi I am currently trying to manipulate a banner carriers banner

I want to just have the Glowing part of a Haradrim's Banner , recoloured white

... to use as a projectile object

how do I import / export the texture ?

Or at least what is the texture file for mueastban_skn.w3d for the glowing part ?

Argg .. And that's why I hate Renx .. or it hates me

So I'm rying to create a build up anim for the Shire tent

SB_tent

After some elaborate coding I now need to finish it off with a buildup anim and a damaged texture

But the model won't show ...
And I know its ingame somehow as I placed a RohanbattleTower Model alongside it for testing
i.e in renx there is the RohanbattleTower Model and the tent model but ingame only the RohanbattleTower Model

So what went wrong .. ??

AND if you could tell me what is the texture for SB_tent that would be great .. but getting the model to show comes first

If all else fails .. no build-up anim
