I need your help to download this addon i found while searching the web.

http://www.strategyi.../mod/30066.html

I went through the first few steps and i'm in my downloads file, a WinRAR notification popped up and now it wants me to pay it $$$ to use its program to open the addon

Is WinRAR trustworthy? what's it stand for? how much money is it? what item should i buy to enable the addon?

thanks for helping a layman experience your awesome addons!

Now, with WinRar, what I do, whenever that notification pops up, just hit cancel. You won't get in trouble or anything. Also, an alternative is 7zip. :thumbsdownsmiley:

Go Here and download the one you need. Is your computer a 64 bit or 32 bit? If you don't know, right click on my computer and go to properties, it should tell you there

Yes, i know, but the point of this thread is which one i DO need - the reason being, i have no idea whether or not to get, for instance, the "graphic and command line" one, or just the regular 32 bit english one, etc. I guess i'll try the 32 bit english

okay, lets go over what we know.

I want to download http://www.strategyi.../mod/30066.html

I recently got the installer for it, namely the 32 bit WinRAR

I'm re-downloading the file right now.

I didn't find the file in my folder, so i'm re-downloading it

Once it's downloaded, lets just say for the heck of it that it works.

what do i do to install it? just boot up the game?

edit: i know this is late, i just didn't want to post w/o news

I followed the installation guide to the letter, and restarted my computer afterwards. Neither myself or my somewhat tech-savvy brother know what to do now, since the game still isn't running

If you're there, post saying so and we can go over this and hopefully get the mod running tonight

RJ-ROTWK is actually hosted from here, so you might find more luck in RJ's Support forums here

But anyway, did you manage to download the file alright? Are you able to open up the .zip file, and extract whatever's in there?

What happens when you try to run the mod? Does the game crash? Does the normal (vanilla) ROTWK run?

Have you installed up to the 2.01 patch? Are you using a non-cracked BFME disc? Does you shortcut have the right target address?

I don't have ROTWK sorry, so i can't really help you with the specifics. But those are a few common problems that most mods seem to have :thumbsdownsmiley:

^That should be enough for your tech-savvy friend to get the game working. The important thing is just to make sure that the Target of the shortcut is your game directory, and the -mod parameter is targeting the RJ directory.

By the way, tons of hate for using .rar to compress files. Rob is obviously a very experienced modder, I can't fathom why he didn't use .zip :S
