Well, i have gone through the destruction of RA and it really sucked when i read that...
but anyways, TDH is also very cool and ive played it several times :p

But now to the point. Are you guys considering this idea to add elven faction or to merge with Elven Alliance!?
It really would fit in with this mod :D
so we (my brother and me) wont have to switch from mod everytime we want to LAN with eacher because someone wants to be an elf and the other wants to be a dwarf...

consider this please and also if you do it discuss it with The Elven alliance modding team :p

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

I think it'd be a pretty bad idea, to be honest.

It's a pretty bad idea, yeah, mainly because me and Cel had rather different ideas of what we wanted when we designed our respective factions. TEA Elves would need some significant changes to work in the TDH 'universe'.

And that is because you would have two "elite" factions?

*I know the answer! TDH in the TEA Universe! ;) *

its not really a bad idea, but since thats the problem then it is bad.
Would be nice though. i respect your reason and someone can close this thread ;)

PS. Will there be some tournament or events hosted to participate!?

I thought that would be a pretty good idea too at first, but as i played TDH more, i realised how much better the gameplay really is. I love TEA, but once you get past the new heroes/powers, the gameplay is pretty ordinary. Not to mention all the other reasons that have already been mentioned ;)

There is a TDH Tournament and Games Section, but it's pretty quiet. I don't play online much personally (i don't really have the download speed or a convenient timezone ;)), but there might be a few people keen for a game if you make a topic.

There hasn't been a TDH tournament yet, perhaps Rob/Nertea could start one if enough people were interested.

Sorry, but what is the difference between TDH and TEA that makes TDH better? Both of them add one new faction, with new powers, heroes and units. The gameplay is quite the same, actually.

What I prefer of TEA above TDH is the improved campaign, with Minas Tirith as a cherry on the pie.

I'd ask myself what's different in the gameplay between the two, but I just remembered that I hardly played\play either of them ;)
Although I do know that for me, TEA Elves are just expensive.. I can hardly play them ;)

Sorry, i probably should have rephrased that. I like TDH's gameplay better ;)

I find that the elves are quite generic, in that you usually build up archers, then spearmen, then galadhrim, then go with either cavalry, upgrades or heroes (depending on who you're playing). Most of the units are very similar to the existing vanilla units, just with different stats, and more expensive. The heroes are great fun, but they're so expensive that i rarely get to use more than a few of them (Haldir, Legolas and Glorfindel mainly).

I like the way that the TDH units are more unique in their application, and vary more from the original units. For example, the khazad guard are unlike any other vanilla unit: slow, heavy-hitting infantry with lots of health, armour, an axe throw and bonuses to heroes. The lack of dwarven cavalry makes for interesting gameplay, as you have to work around your weaknesses. Unlike BFME2, where the game is ruined (for me atleast), by trying to balance the factions too much. For example, the Iron Guard attempt to compensate for that, as fast, light infantry that are good for raiding, and gain a speed boost when attacking.

Don't get me wrong , i love TEA. TDH and TEA are my two favourite mods, and i very rarely play anything else. I just think that TEA's elves are less unique, and too ordinary to justify being combined with TDH - and i'm sure Nertea, Matias and anyone else on the team would agree ;)

I too once thought of the concept of merging the two mods together, but I remembered it would be completely demeaning to Cel's memory and the integrity of his original work.

I don't know if they team still have them but, the elven unit skins for what would have been the Mirkwood faction were very good indeed. I'm not suggesting a new faction, but, if TDH ever wanted to make an elven faction, then surely the material is there. It's really a matter of time and will.
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .
