Modding is a process of changing a game to what you would like it to be. This topic is a handy reference to anyone who wishes to mod EAW, it contains links to essential tools which will enable you to mod EAW successfully.
**WARNING**Please backup all your CORE EAW and FOC files before modding them, Petrolution will not be responsible for any damage you cause to your game files.
The Alamo Object (ALO) Viewer lets you view models and animations for Petroglyph's games.
Alamo Object Importer
The Alamo Object Importer lets you import .ALO and .ALA files into 3D Studio Max.
Note that imported models that have dazzles cannot be exported from 3dsmax6 and 8, because Petroglyph's exporter for those version does not support dazzles.
Alamo Object Exporter
The Alamo Object Exporter, made by Petroglyph, lets you export 3D Studio Max objects and animations to .ALO and .ALA files.
The Particle Editor lets you view and edit particles for Petroglyph's games.
Mega- Texture Editor
The Mega-Texture Editor lets you view and edit Mega-Texture files for Petroglyph's games.
The Strings Editor lets you view and edit String files for Petroglyph's games.
EAW Map Editor
The EAW Map editor allows you to edit current maps or make your own maps for the EAW game only.
EAW FOC Map Editor
The EAW FOC Map editor allows you to edit current maps or make your own maps for the EAW FOC game only.
Map Preview Extractor
The Map Preview Extractor lets you extract the 256x256 Map Preview Image stored in maps made by Petroglyph's Forces of Corruption Map Editor and save it as a TGA file.
The Animation Converter lets you convert animations between Empire at War's and Forces of Corruption's formats.
LUA Tools (ADVANCED)
These tools allow you to convert Lua object files or disassemble them. Note that these tools are NOT for regular modders. Non-compiled Lua files can be edited with any text editor, and there is no way (yet) to convert the compiled Lua files into non-compiled Lua files.

EAW should be patched to version 1.5 before you decide to create a public released mod this will minimize the amount of problems which will occur.
