Ok, just for clarification, I mod using the method of extracting ini.big and removing it from the directory (keeping a backup of course), not using the whole -mod command thing. (I've been thinking of doing that, but so far it seems like it takes longer to test your mod, and has many more problems. I'll be glad to take a recommendation, but so far this is the way I mod.) When I extract Textures#.big (0-4) from and to both BFMEII and ROTWK directory, and remove the .big files, when I start the game I get some problems. The menu and stuff looks fine but when I start a skirmish for instance, everything is shaded pink and all the icons are little pink squares. I've tried moving all the extracted files to the ROTWK directory, and I've tried keeping each set of Textures#.big in their respective directories, but I get problems with both. How am I supposed to organize the files? Would the -mod command make it easier? (I still don't get how to split up gamedata.ini and _gamedata.inc for the -mod command) Thanks for any help.

-mod command would make it much easier. Because then all you would have to do is organize your modified textures (and ONLY the modified ones, no need for a huge mass of already ingame ones) and double click a simple exe (the EA asset builder) to make an asset.dat specific to your mod. And all your textures would show up.

Ok, cool. So is there a way to keep the extracted ini files in the directory and use the -mod command at the same time? Or would I have to put my ini files in my .big mod file (I've read the tutorial on using the -mod command, so I was just wondering if it would work with my method too)?

EDIT: Ok, nevermind, I got it to work! I kept my ini files where they were and they weren't affected. But I tried the -mod command, I made a folder for my mod, put some custom .dds files in art\compiledtextures\hi (that's the folder I was working in). And then I followed the directions from the -mod command tutorial. It actually worked! I think I'm gonna use the -mod thing from now on. Thanks for the help though.

I think you'll find it's much more convenient.

I will move an entire AssetCacheBuilder MOD's art
Create the asset 300kb smaller than the original
Why?
