Ive decided to retire from mapping. Mostly because of 2 reasons, SEE cant seem to get moving, and my HD crashed on my older computer and all the wip maps are lost. I should have backed up but Ive never had a computer crash on me ever. So i didnt think it necessary. I just dont have the heart to undertake building minas tirith a 3rd time. I had already lost a prior 7 leveled version and now losing this one has got to be a sign. I think some of the team may have a few of the newer versions of maps like amon hen and moria but im not sure anymore. SEE does have a bunch of work that was completed which includes the scaled version of minas tirith and a number of my other maps.
I want to thank the community for all they have done for me, Its been a rich and wonderful relationship. I owe a lot of my successes to Nazgul and those who challenged me to do more with each map. Im especially greatful for the opportunity to be on the team - Thank you Nazgul for everthing. I want to thank each mapper who ever worked on a project here, everytime somebody did something new and different it drove me to aspire to those levels. I want to thank M@tt because it was his maps that even got me interested in mapping in the first place.
Ill always pop in from time to time to see whats new and whats on the horizon. Ill see if I can scrounge up any maps left for beta testers. But for now: I will not say do not weep, for not all tears are an evil. All my love to the community.

Some good news.... Having gone through and looked at my work, (pictures) Ive decided to be like Brett Farve and come back to work for SEE. So the first map Ill be starting is Moria - One of my favorites.
As a side note Ill be needing a dedicated mini map maker - its not my specialty and I hate trying to learn to do it. One of the requirements would be to get them done reasonably quick when I ship off completed maps to this person. Part of the reason I lost some of these maps was due to waiting for mini maps. If they had been done I would have sent them to Naz for inclusion in the mod. Im not blaming anybody for my stupidity in not backing up, but several maps had been done for nearly a year.

That's great news !!
PS: I was wondering if your Minas Tirith map (7 levels) has been entirely lost or if you still have some intermediate versions saved somewhere ? In which case, any plan to resurrect it ?
Keep the wonderful work !

Mini-maps aren't terribly hard to do, especially if you have Photoshop. Compared to making the actual map, they take almost no time at all
I'd recommend trying to learn how to do them for the reason you gave. If you do need any help though, i could always lend a hand. I finish uni in a few weeks, so i'll have a bunch of free time then, and i could do any unfinished mini-maps for you
