Hey you guys!

Remember me? I made a couple of maps while in {IP} some while back, they were named 'The Sanctum Of Insanity', 'The Coming Of Darkness' and 'Edhellond'. Hope this rings a bell to some, how have you guys been doing? BFME still popular? I've been thinking on doing some maps in the future, I've got some cool ideas in my head :)

Hey WrathChild, as you can see these IP forums are also as dead as anything else. I'm sorry.

Don't know if this would help, but incoporting these forums more into the T3A ones would probably provide more traffic.

Probably.. yes.. but we don't seem to have many active members, atleast not any that goes unto the forums.. also I believe that the BFME community is dieing and the demand for custom maps might be gone when the servers go down...

It's a shame really. What else can you do once the servers go down? I suppose people could set up a network but that's very limited. Once they shut down the servers, there's no real point in making custom maps then. And it sucks because I was finally starting to get decent at it. Now the BFME franchise is going to be gone. I will always enjoy it (except the part of Theoden's mounted damage being 35 and his unmounted 180).

You'd be the only one here actively mapping. Save a few now and again.
The problem isn't servers going down. The problem isn't poor advertising. The problem isn't even a dying game. The problem is us. That's never going to change.

I'd be happy with that. Like i've always said, i think connecting with T3A is the only way that IP will ever draw in new members and stay alive. Though i disagree that the BFME modding community is dying, and from my experience, mapping is more related to the various mods than online matches. Online players rarely want to play on a map unless it's perfectly balanced - most of the mapping i've seen has been a part of mods such as TDH and SEE.

If IP was incorporated into T3A (maybe under the WB forums, or the showcase or something), then it would be a lot more lively. Pup's right, the problem is definitely the mappers. But i think if there was more interaction between IP and the various mods, than more of us might find the motivation to keep mapping. It's like playing an instrument - it's much more lively and interesting if you're playing in a band

I agree with everything Haldir said. I will admit that I rarely looked at the IP forums. Now, if it was incorporated into the T3A forums, I would look at it on a regular basis.

Same here. I think making maps for mods will increase the allure of both.

All that's needed is a way to make IP the gathering union of mappers and modders, so finding an idea how we can provide help to the mapping / modding community is a good priority.

Well the gathering point for BFME mappers and modders is T3A :) Providing help to the mapping/modding community isn't going to happen as long as IP remains a separate entity that is rarely visited by anyone other than its current non-active, non-mapping members.

Things like classes, tutorials, or showcases are only useful if there are enough users browsing through them. It would provide motivation to do those things, if you knew that a significant amount of users or mods were going to see them.

I mean seriously, what are you losing by moving over? At this rate, i don't think IP will survive the next year.

I think 2 years ago we said IP wasn't going to last another year... and last year too I'd imagine.

If I had time like I used to, I would go back to making tutorials and maps, but I need people to take an interest in them or making them is useless.
