Hay...I'm fairly new to mapping...
i was making a little quest map for me and my friends...but theres a problem..
it worked fine up untill i made some specific changes..and added a script here the details...

after some camera stuff it makes some goblins retreat to a little ambush.. and it tells you to follow it...but when i went to test it...it stopeed working (again it was working fine untill i made: these changes...

added a river and lake,
a fire drake lair with a couple scorch marks around it (i clcked to make them about 5 time but only 2 are visible
i "supposedly" added tree's to my map...they didn't appear ingame though??? (thats another problem)

i also added a script that makes a the team Dwarven rienforcements (consisting of Dain, 2 guardianhordes and 2 axethrowerhordes) move on screen after dorogoth is killed...(that didn't work also...)
it is not completly finished...still have to touch up some objective and the WIN & LOSS stuff,

another script that stopped working is when i see a tower...it displays some text on screen...

Please Comment!!!

Thanks
i was basing it of of m@tt's post Here:
the changes are more allies come and a bigger base...along with no setry's

What are the specific scripts you're using? Can you post the IF and THEN conditions? If things were working, but now aren't, then you've most likely edited the script or one of the objects in some way. If you've renamed anything, changed their teams, or edited the scripts settings at all, that might be the problem. Otherwise, it's hard to tell without specifics.

As for your trees, are you definitely using the place object tool and not the build list tool? Have you got many different tree types or is it only one type of tree? More than 14 types i think, and the game either crashes, or doesn't display the trees properly.

Again, it's hard to help with the dwarven reinforcement or that tower thing without seeing the specific scripts.

I don't know to much about WB, but wouldn't you have to use <This Player> ?

Yeah, i think <Local Player> refers to the player who's folder you've made script under. It's better to be specific anyway, try using <Player 1> or whichever player it is you want.

Problems
1.
any type of script i use to "kill a unit doesn'y work (its a mallorn tree)
(its in the folder "PlyrElves" which is the Player you are...

2.
the grove tool doesn't work anymore...they only way to place tree's now is by using the grove tool and just clicking(not click and drag)...only one appears that way...or use the object placement tool

Question
1. how to i make camera animations move slower...

1. This is strange, because that script usually works quite simply. Maybe double check the object name and the script to see if you might've mistyped something. Or maybe try putting it in the Civilian folder. Otherwise, try redoing the script to see if that works

2. Have you got lots of tree types on your map? WB doesn't allow you to use more than 14 different types i believe, and the grove tool doesn't work properly once you hit that max. 14 types is a lot anyway, you probably only want about 5-10 types at most.

If it's not that, i'm not sure. Though single-clicking with the grove tool normally only places one tree. Perhaps check if the number of trees box on the grove tool is still what is should be. If it's 1 or blank, that's your problem :p

3. Is this a camera script? Most of them should have values for how quickly you want the camera to do things (e.g. move, rotate, alter pitch).

1) As Haldir said, put it in the civilian folder, or in the neutral folder.
2) ...never had this problem before :p
3) If its a camera animation, which is made through the "Edit->Camera Animations" you need to increase the length of the entire animation, and just move the specific points further apart. If its a script, just change the amount of time it has to take for doing things...

I thought you were supposed to be a mapper, as stated in your blue text? How can you not know these basic things and still call yourself that?

...i know how to extend it...VERY simple.. :p it's when i try to make it bigger than that...it shrinks back to 600 X 600 so i dodn't know if that was just my program or there was a setting i just typed it wrong...

fyi...i'm just started recently... so i'm not a PRO mapper...i should but "Basic" mapper

I wanted to know the same thing.
I don't think it's possible, but it can't hurt to ask.
