As you can see when you're reading this, the upgrade to version 3.1 of Invision Power Board is complete. Most of all, this should stop the massive flood of spam bots we have witnessed in the last couple of weeks, while allowing real people to register again. It also brings a lots and lots of new features for both users and admins so it should definitely be worth it.

While the core upgrade may be done, the transition is not yet finished. Within the next hours and days we'll make sure to bring back all of the features we've had with IPB 2.3, especially the software that relied on the forum database (such as MasterNews and RAS). You should also see some extra features for IPB 3 soon, such as Sphinx Search, which will allow much faster and more relevant searches.

Unfortunately, this upgrade also broke all of our existing skins and there is no easy way to bring them back. We already have a new Revora-themed skin in preparation, but it will take another while until it is really ready. For all the other skins, that depends on people volunteering to do the dirty work...

Masternews, RAS (what you use to log in on division sites) and RePort (the news system that powers the frontpage and RSS feeds) have been updated.

And they are working fine. Nice job! The real problem now are the skins.

Anyways, good job on the upgrade!

That feature is still there, but IPB simply marked all current posts as unread in the upgrade process. However, at the very bottom on the left side there is a link "Mark Board as Read", which you can use to set all topics as read for a clean start.

Meh, it's probably a matter of getting used to this but it seems very messy.

Not sure if Masternews is 100% working. If you click on the news articles on the Revora homepage, it gives an error. TDH is working fine though, so I imagine it's more an issue with the Revora site.

First, and most important: a huge thank you to the admins (Phil, Bart, Banshee, ??) for their efforts in keeping this site up-to-date. Well done, friends.

Looks like we're getting a lot of new interesting features, though it'll take a little time to get familiar with them; I sure do welcome the new extra possibilities in the editor, I guess they'll be handy tools in relation to some of the longer posts that I sometimes make in the 3rd Age forum.

Second, a question:

By porting to the new software, all of the Quote-boxes and Code-boxes (in the 3rd Age forum) have somehow disappeared in all posts made before the porting - will they be restored automatically in the process of restoring the site? ... or will we eventually have to do this manually?

I've tried to open a few of my old posts, but the editor only shows (a lot of) HTML-code, and the new editor doesn't seem to have a switch between HTML and BBC.

As I said, the Revora site is powered by RePort, not Masternews
But thanks for the note, I know what's probably causing that issue.

There's a small problem I just noticed. I'm using a 1024x768 screen resolution, and when I open up the Revora tab on top, the menu gets drawn under the IPBoard thing in the top-right (the thing with the picture and profile options). Because of that, I can't select some elements from the Blizzard and Other menus.

This hasn't much to do with the update but I'll post it here anyway.
For some time now I have to open up every answer in a topic manually at the bottom of the page.
All answers aren't listed on the screen anymore (like they did before), only the post of the topic opener. How can I revert to the old interface?
Please help me, because this sucks.
