Ive seen this done in a mod a while back (tho I can't remember which one: Contra, Pro:Gen, Shockwave or even another one!), anywaaaaaaaaay. When a superweapon is launch (SCUD, Nuke or Particle Cannon), the screen is turn white for a faction of a second, and the shakes around afterwards. Ive search searching around for how it was done, the best I could come up with was "DamageFX", tho I didn't have any more joy afterwords.
