Actually made by a small Norwegian company with the unity 3d engine. Not that I've yet played it, I'm a jante-law follower by apathy and inaction.

if you are docked on a ship you walk around and talk to people, than you fly out and mine resources, go on missions. The combat is pretty smooth and it's all web based. Enough details while not getting too bogged down on small stuff. Some of the capital ships are almost scary to fly by. They are huge compared to the fighters. The detail is amazing...the whole game is played from a browser.
Save up enough and you can buy a capital ship. You can join a wing and do missions together. It's worth checking out.

I loved the new Battlestar Galactica series and enjoy MMO's in general, so I might check this out 
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

it runs smooth as hell for me, and it's still beta. I was not anticipating the fluidity of the game. I am impressed. The in space battle sequences are spot on.
