The parallels with the America of 2011 are clear. At Tea Party meetings across the country, states' rights is a rebel yell among many who see today's government as overweening and rapacious.
Thats a good question though. I believe those that choose liberty over unity shoot themselves in the foot, "united we stand divided we fall" and all that. Liberty won't work if you don't have the unity to uphold it.
