It's not looking very bright for the republicans is it? Just now Huckabee said he won't be going, and he has 30% of the republicans behind him. I haven't really looked into the others, but Donald Trump seems to have deflated himself by burning all bridges with other republicans, and he did get eaten up by Obama at that press dinner.

I guess the main problem for the republicans is that their party has been split into the Tea-party and the GOP, and with the American election system its hard to create a coalition for the presidency. And those that vote moderate Republican are not very likely to vote tea-party republican and vice-versa...so yeah, not the best position to be in.

Well, all I see happening is sort of 2008 election reloaded. Seriously.

I'm thinking at McCain/The Brunette from Alaska vs Obama. And that's it.

I've noticed that out of some reasons - ones I honestly don't know - people don't really support Donald Trump.

I'm kinda ready to bet that Obama will be re-elected.

What, and immediately become into the United Soviet Socialist Republic States of America?

If Obama is what America thinks a socialist is, Lenin must be turning in his glass coffin in the middle of the Kremlin.

Yeah, I have to say the less of a cliffhanger this becomes in Obama's favor, the better. One might say that the republican split combined with the fear that Obama is a powerhouse and most presidents gets re-elected, the republicans are unwilling to spend large amounts of money on this election.

Hihi, yeah them socialists sure are a scary bunch.

Well, put simply, the guy's an attention grabbing blockhead, who is only creating distractions.

I heard that he recently (during the birther nonsense) said, "You know in the old days, when you beat a country in war, that country became yours".

...Dunno if I quoted perfectly on that, word for word, but it should give you an idea of his level of intelligence.

I was talking to one of my friends about this t'other day, a Politics student at my university, and he firmly believes Obama will lose the next election. I can't remember all, or indeed any, of the reasons for this, but it was extremely convincing. However, I do remember that he said that only applies if the Tea Party don't decide to field a candidate of their own, because that would obviously split the usual Republican vote and give Obama an easy win.

Anyway, isn't it a bit early to be discussing this? The election's not for 18 months yet. Can't America just let Obama get on with being President for another year or so before they start making him spend his whole time worrying about poll numbers?

Edit: Also, the Donald is a massive shit. I almost hope he runs for the Republican nomination just so that he can get utterly crushed.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Herman Cain!

EDIT: He's certainly the best candidate for America that I've seen from either Party to-date.

 I wanted to have the first thread about it, and I'm a horrible horrible person ^_^

Probably something along the veins of "the rich will rise the gas-prices and make the economy falter just enough to get one of their own puppets in, BUT ONLY if they have a half-chance at getting that puppet in in the first place." It's strange what the rich and powerful can do to keep shit the way they are. Blackwater recently started a Arab PMC for the UAE, with crowd suppression primarily in mind. Money is king eh.

He's certainly the best candidate for America that I've seen from either Party to-date

So the republicans needs a black republican to beat a black democrat? What will the next election candidates be, two black-albino paralyzed Jews?

Not at all. The Republicans need someone with experience in working in the (now broken) American economy, has an understanding of how to lead large organizations, and can speak for what the American people need. Herman Cain can do that; he's been doing it this entire time, but none of the major news outlets (Faux News, CNN) will give him the time of day because they know that he'll defeat President Obama, and right now he's their faultless wonder boy. 99.9% of the people (and voters) that I know and have spoken with about the 2012 election are agreeing with what Cain is saying.

Well he's certainly a friendly looking black guy.
Which will play well for the more superficial side of politics.

He's very republican God mentioned right there in the first paragraph.
He'll only be a strong candidate if he's backed and since atm he's all but anonymous he might have trouble standing out.
But then this might end up being a up snooze election like Bush vs Kerry.
