Well, I'd suggest changing Thrawn's ships - the Admonitor shpuld be enough and instead of giving him Razor's Kiss the SSD should be given to Ysanne Isard (Lusankya).
Also maybe to give something to Lord Tion?

BTW: I haven't researched it yet, so I'm asking: is the Praetor II the ship as shown here:
http://starwars.wiki...s_battlecruiser
http://starwars.wiki.../wiki/Mils_Giel

Also for the Operation Shadow Hand it would be nice to see the gathering of former warlords that united under Emperor's renewed reign: Sander Delvardus, Blitzer Harrsk and Treuten Teradoc.

BTW: if you have problems with making proper icon, maybe contact guys from Thrawn's Revenge team: they have found an icon-maker, who prepared from scratch icons for these warlords to be used in that mod's v.2.0 (as there are no "canonical" pictures of these warlords, he made icons based upon their descriptions).
I can't find the topic with these new icons, but I'm sure that Corey has posted them... and looked pretty impressive.

BTW2:
these icons are shown in this topic:
http://gutr.swrebell...5.html#msg34045

So maybe Lord Xizer and Kaytalin could make some new icons for PR?

Another problem we've had is to do with heroes; often it's hard to add a hero because they've never been depicted anywhere, meaning many icons are made from random Imperial officer pictures in order to represent different people. Lord Xizer and has helped in this respect as well, putting us in contact with Kaytalin, who is creating custom portraits for anyone who needs one but has no canon pictures. So, another huge thanks to Kaytalin. Shown below are some of the portraits she's provided so far in icon form. They are, in order, Warlords Harrsk, Delvardus and Teradoc, General Melvar, and Admiral Ar'alani:

The issue with the Praetor II is that they changed the keel. I can't think of it as the same class as the original, despite the similar name.

Tion is from the radio drama... he's only in Skyhook to invade Ralltiir. I don't think you can just swap Giel for him and have it make sense, but there's no reason why we couldn't add both.

Those icons are pretty brilliant, and we have the same problem with heroes (although some of ours are probably even more obscure). I could ask if they'd let us reuse her icons.

Could we get the TIE Crawler for the Empire?

I imagine that there's a model out there somewhere.

Heh, Tion is also buildable in GFFA... ;) And my idea was that for a player it is much more important to have a hero WITH a ship than that WITHOUT one...
Same problem is IMHO with Godherdt - an Imperial officer from "second rank" or even "third rank", not commanding any ship... just a "technician"...

That would be pretty good. And maybe they can also MAKE new icons for PR, as not all of them "replicate" in both mods (well, TR extends beyond timeframe of PR - PR ends with Emperor reborn and Dark Empire era; TR continues into Reunification by Daala and "warlords massacre on Tsoss Beacon" up until final Gilad Pellaeon's rise to power; thus in TR appear heroes that do not appear in PR, like those warlords.
However, these warlord commanders once were Imperial high-ranking officers, so they can be a nice add-on to Shadow Hand campaign at least (and even to GFFA).

Just to clarify;

We (Thrawn's Revenge) did not search them out and get them to make the icons ourselves. Xizer is a fan of our mod, and since we had mentioned we were slightly restricted in what heroes we used because of a lack of existing images, he saw and then offered on his own to commission his artist friend, Kaytalin, to make them. Commission meaning he very generously paid her to make them for Thrawn's Revenge. From my understanding Kaytalin was willing to do it as a favour to Lord Xizer, who was willing to commission them because he was already a big fan of Thrawn's Revenge. She may have been willing to do them for free since Xizor had wanted them for our mod to begin with, however he wanted to make sure she was compensated for her work. I don't believe she's ever played EaW or is even a fan of SW to begin with.

If PR wishes to use the ones she has already made, it may be possible to arrange that depending on whether or not they'll allow them to be used in other mods. However, unless PR is willing to foot the bill for future icons I don't think you can rely on new icons being created specifically for it, though I don't know how much she'd even be willing to do any of them for other mods. It's one of the few instances where modding wasn't free.

Okay, thanks for clarification.
Just saw these icons (which are pretty impressive as themselves!) and explanation to their appearance into the Thrawn's Revenge mod and thought that similar way could be utilised in Phoenix Rising.
That's all.

Corey, why are we on a lot of the same forums?

I've seen you on your team's forum, here, and the Total War Center forums.

And that's really interesting involving the icon's backstory.

Actually, that is not entirely accurate, while Operation Shadow Hand is the last campaign depicted chronologically IU, as far as technological development is concerned, the X-wing goes up to the J7, so PR could potentially cover the NJO and beyond, assuming he could get the tech tree working for a third faction and suitable models for other ships in that time period could be obtained.

We only "stop" at Dark Empire because that's as far as the campaigns have gotten. Part of that has to do with not having models for New Class and such. The game's timeline is technically through the GCW.

Corey, either you're all over your referring links, or you're omnipotent :p. I couldn't find any reference to a "Kaytalin" in the EaW community, so that makes sense. Personally, I'd rather not mix modding and money, so let's just forget about any interest we might've had. Either way, I'm not sure if I'll even get into hero mode for v1.3.

Well, my suggestion is to give the AI all starting heroes that are available... and automatically give it heroes after conquering a planet - in my Empire campaign the AI seems to not build any heroes except those already present at start - for example, I've captured Alderaan about week 20 and there was only Senator Organa, with NO other heroes; also NO heroes appeared with rebel trops that attacked my Core facilities on Coruscant, captured Corulag, Anaxes and Empress Teta.

And without "enemy" heroes the game loses much of its value...

That's a pretty backwards approach. I can write a LUA plan for the AI to build heroes. It does currently build them, albeit randomly.

and if it does it goes on a suicide mission with them without upgrading their ships

That would be great... and for now maybe I'll just give the AI the heroes - maybe if having the heroes already it will upgrade them...? IIRC in PR 1.0 (at least with minimods that upgraded AI) the AI had heroes and even upgraded them so there was fun fighting against them...

It still does upgrade them - it's just not actively looking to do so. Narra in CW is one that gets upgraded quite often. It probably is attempting more upgrades than you're seeing, since it doesn't currently know that heroes can't be moved while upgrading.

i have a question, when in the oncoming versions will it be mroe like updates? since you have already basicaaly completly changed the game already?

so will you only be adding in new units, fixing a few bugs here and there, myabe fixing GFFA campaign so it doesn't crash every 6 or so hours-it's not that bad but somedays i get WAY WAY to involved into the game lol and i play too much...?

and if you arn't doing any more "overhauls" or the game, im assuming we will see updates more like every 6 moths to a year? rather then the 4 plus sum years it took to make 1.2? since it was a complete overhaul of the game redoing just about every little detail you could.unlike what im assuming what you guys will be doing here on out of just fixing minor things and adding some things into the game

You've outlined the basic idea of how we intend to move development of the mod on. There is still plenty for us to do, but we do hope to bring out updates more regularly.

With v1.2, we're past the point of gutting major systems and starting from scratch, which is a great thing. We have our own mechanic now, so all we need to do is refine it. That said, you can still count on some major changes/additions to gameplay going forward.

Unfortunately, most of those don't have models.
