Just saw the movie. Excellent chance to see a whole bunch of books rolled into one. I see they will now have three movies instead of two.

Best line of the movie was when Gandalf talked about the other wizards and mentioned "there were two blue ones but I don't remember thier names..." referring to the fact that Tolkien never named the blue wizards that went into the east.

I enjoyed the movie a lot.

Here is where you can post spoilers directly from the movies if you wish. ;p

Hahaha, it's funny that Australia is the closest country to New Zealand, but they still decided to release the film much later there :p.

Well, flights are cheap to New Zealand. You'll find that a lot of Aussies went to the Premiere.

It's most likely because of our distributors.
We are pretty used to waiting for ever for things and half the time for it to never to come.

I can't watch it here. I'm almost tempted to ruin it and look for a cam.

Looked for a cam, none to be found. :p

It isn't in Japanese cinemas? Or do the Japanese dub it to oblivion?

I haven't checked in Hachinohe, but around here it doesn't exist.

I saw Japanese movie posters as well as some Japanese commercials for the film. The Tokyo premiere was a big deal. Try looking harder. :p

The Japanese dub their movies very carefully and extensively. They usually hit several months after airing in the rest of the world. For example, The Avengers premiered like three to four months after it hit theaters everywhere else. I'm so sorry Kwen.

EDIT: Or else you should look harder, as Mathijs suggested. Who knows? :p

I did see the movie about a week ago, what a disappointing experience ... horrible bad, in fact worse than that. Clearly the director has been corrupted by the megabucks of the Dark Lords of Filmindustry. Shame on Peter Jackson.
