Neth you are included, I've had to edit a couple of your posts.
Both with 4+ emotes.

I think the reasonable cap should be 2, which is about as high as I go.
If you were posting a very long post maybe 3.

Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

I had the meaning of life in my signature, but it exceeded the character limit.

Its fun how much you would care about smileys... :xd:
I mean come on only if its "insane" like described by puppeteer i would find it reasonable to edit someone's post...

Revora has never had a smiley limit policy and we're not putting one in place now ;)

I'm also not very happy if people overdo it with moderating, especially editing other people's posts. Moderating powers are here to contain the worst excesses, not to shape posts more to your personal liking...

I've only edited about 4 posts and emotes are usually the after thought, they just piss me off more.

There is a thing you can express different meaning in multiple sentences ,therefore you need smiles for each one . :tongevil:

Ohh and how you can hate a simply emote? It's cool , I'm going to make a "Story-emote topic"

Not that I have any say in things... coming and going as I am. But, perhaps considering my age and life XP I could be bold enough to leave my 2 cents? I think the whole idea sounds a bit "fascist" and over controlling. IRL ppl are different, right? We have different cultures, languages, ambitions, body language, experience, etc. Not to mention several dialects withoin the same language, and in my line of work (one of them) being security, I meet ppl from all these groups and during the 38 years of life I've had I would not like to have lived soemwhere where someone tells me what I can say and how I should say it. I do however agree that uber-use of smileys can be very annoying, but so can dialects and body language etc be as well. That doesn't men that I or anyone else should or could alter those to better suit my or someone elses taste... The only things I would say is "moderable/controllable" is when ppl are crossing the lines, arguments and such. And oh yeah: ;)

Wow Naz you are playing the age card again?

Are you seriously comparing my emote abuse disliking to fascism?
Fascism and Draconian aren't words that can just be thrown around.

There's no official limit on smilies as much as I wish there was,Phil said as much and so I tow the line.
So if people want to use smilies go ahead in the knowledge that anything said in the same will not be taken seriously.

Yes I am... since I'm a firm beleiver that age matters. I respect my elders, even if far from all ppl do. But once more it is (as usual) not my intention to annoy when posting - espescially not a "team member". I'm simply stating my wiev on the matter, just like others do. I assume I'm entitled to that :wink_new: And I do think smileys are needed, but they should be used in a limited fashion indeed. Unfortionately it's impossible to have hundereds of posters share the same view on matters like this so I guess we're gonna have to live with the over extensive use of smileys from some users, regardless of what forums we use or visit

And opening again... no need to close topics because of a fear of things getting out of hand. It's a peaceful dialogue between two chamber members. No need to worry. ;) As for limiting emoticons, there really is no need to do that Rad. I rarely see users using an excessive amount of emoticons.

Thanks for opening it again. I couldn't see no reason for it being closed in the first place, but forgot to take it up in the Chambers.

Smilies are annoying when used in excess, but they hardly are. It's like disabling guest posting because one annoys you ;)
In my opinion that is. I come from lots of smilies though, could be I'm biased.

I use a lot yeah, but I make sure not to use too much, I only use them (usually) to show what I'm thinking (tone/etc.). It only annoys me when you get a line of them :p 2 in a row is okay, but the lines of dancing ones tend to annoy me, although I'm sure I did that at one point too
