"As he closed it in his hand, the radiance welled through his living flesh, and his hand became as a shining lamp; but the jewel suffered his touch and hurt him not. It came then into Beren's mind that he would go beyond his vow, and bear out of Angband all three of the Jewels of Fëanor; but such was not the doom of the Silmarils. The knife Angrist snapped, and a shard of the blade flying smote the cheek of Morgoth. He groaned and stirred, and all the host of Angband moved in sleep."

In the First Age of Arda, the Valar of Iluvatar formed the World, and created the life that now walks this Earth,

but one of their own, powerful and evil Morgoth marred it with his dark will. From the creation of the world to the

end of over five thousand years, he twisted and corrupted the minds and hearts of Arda. This is the story of how

he rose to the heights of evil and fell into the void of darkness...

This is the story of the Silmarillion...

NOTE: Although I posted this topic, I am posting it on behalf of king of the dead94. This is not my mod, but all graphics on this page are by me for this mod.

This mod is a complete redesign of BFME2: RotWK, replacing all factions with new units and buildings from the First Age of the Sun. We're all set to go, apart from an animator and someone who can rig texture maps.

In the creation of this mod, anyone can put forward ideas which will, most likely, make it into the game.

I have created a few renders below of my models, which do not have any skeletons or animations, but are ready for it.

We don't mind how much experience you have, just as long as you can rig and animate, and you'll have a warm welcome, I promise you. If you wish to participate, either email king of the dead94 at onsvg.robin718@gmail.com, or email/pm me at fellbeastiii@hotmail.co.uk.

There is some strange semantics at work here.

You just can say "The Battle of the Silmarillion" ... i.e. "the battle of *a book*" written many thousands of years after the occurrence of the actual events. You can use the title "The War of the Jewels" or "The War of the Silmarils", or something similar, but not the one you're currently using.

So are the original factions going to be converted or will new factions be added?

Yeah, 'The Silmarillion' is the book; the jewels are called the 'Silmarils'; Námo's suggestions work much better :good:

Well, at first, king of the dead94 entitled it as 'the Silmarillion mod'. Then, when I joined the team, I took the liberty of changing it to something a little more exiting. So I made a few title designs for 'Battle for the Silmarillion', but as soon as I finished, two hours work went down the drain as I realised, like you did, that I'd severely messed up.

I also had an idea for doing this mod two years ago, and was going to call it, funnily enough, 'War of the Jewels'. Then nobody would help so I gave up.

Well, other than that it's looking quite good, I think animating is difficult, never found out a way to actually try it  That's why most people use existing animations

No one really. To get someone to rig and animate custom animations, would either require great amounts of money or an extreme act of charity by a member here who is already involved in many other mods. It'd be easier just to rig it yourself and use exisiting animations.

... Or learn to animate. I don't see how money comes into the equation here.

Punctuation makes the world go around. ;)

I do all punctuation, except full stops (I use commas a lot) :p I just think sentances look much more friendly without them ^_^
