So online media might be uber-strict here soon. A murder of bills declaring crackdowns on material posted on the internet, especially YouTube, are circulating about the US stages. One of them would make posting video or images from video games illegal, as well as another attempting to make performing illegal. Today I heard about another bill that would make flash animation illegal, but I can't find anything on that. Sounds... meh'ish.

-Another bill that cracks down on embedding and several other factors that tie with the last link.

-No video game footage online? That's up to a horde of old people in the Capitol Building who still think themed chess boards are too hardcore.

Been following these for a while now. As such, I've been trying to fight the fuck out of it.

That's crazy.
I doubt that laws like these will pass the 1st Amendment will be very much at play.
Every so often a politician will push a personal agenda as public policy and waste tax payer money doing so.
Same as hear with the web filter.

Since these bills target Youtube and thus Google they'll fight it and beat it like they did Viacom.

It saddens me that in a democracy the wills of over 50 year old predominately white people (mostly men) dictate the rules for everyone else.
Politics needs much more diversity in age, race, culture, religion etc maybe there'll be less credence given to over zealous Politicians who seem
to want to get rid of free speech and free will.

But still I'm sick to death of Games and Websites like Youtube being beaten around for political grandstanding.

I should also say that if these bills were to pass, even though they are US laws they will affect other countries.
