Fen: Now how exactly would we put together a furry-themed RP without the need to be a furry? And what would a furry-themed RPG even involve? Besides which, I'm honestly considering really changing the basic world for this, because I just don't see how the world of pokemon could possibly have happened. Society and technology would be vastly different, for one thing. I don't have time to go into the details now, but I will sooner or later.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

An RPG means you're just a character, right? Taken on that logic, you just make up a goddamn character and run with it. Not participating in a "furry" RPG is like saying you can't play Star Fox because every character is an anthropomorphic animal. Oh, and a "furry" RPG can be anything, just with anthro characters in place of human ones. It can be anything and it can be totally awesome as fuck.

Besides which, I'm honestly considering really changing the basic world for this, because I just don't see how the world of pokemon could possibly have happened.

If you follow the histories of all five generations of legendaries, they tell part of the story. However, the short answer is magic.

The Arsecia RPG has a few anthropomorphic races. Melds(who were rather freeform, werewolf/bear/feline/etc,etc,etc), Lizardmen and Minotaurs.

So you could set yourself up a character as one of them if 'lack of furry characters' is your main reason for not joining in.

Also, for a plot/map - wouldn't it be neat if we followed the game's map, just made more brutal, like you're wanting? [...] Mount Moon would be a Zubat-infested system of tunnels (with a moon-cult of predatory Clefairy somewhere inside, that pick off travelers).

I thought you said it would be more brutal than the games? :p

Like Elven said, I'm probably not active enough to join, but if you don't mind sporadic posts every few weeks what the hell :p

It's not. It's that I really have no interest in the current idea.

Hmm, I doubt I could get the committed numbers for my current idea. I would be interested to see what everyone else does manage to dream up though. Although I'm still #1 poster here I have less and less reason to come here and I'd like that to change...

So... That's a maybe from Yoda, a no from Fen and a... something from Ash?

Okay, I think we've got enough people on board to give this the green light. Now all that remains is to come up with a good name for the RP...

Edit: I've come up with a reasonable name, hopefully. It's subject to change if anyone comes up with something better. Now, nobody post in there until I've finished setting it all up. One day I'll think to write all the basic set-up in Word first or something. But today... is NOT THIS DAY! *aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa* Anyway, work to be done.

Edit again: Okay, this is taking way longer than I expected. I'm'a hide it again for now and youse all can get behind it tomorrow (hopefully - no promises) when I'm finished.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

I like the idea. Although I think there are a great many more possibilities with the magic than you've yet discussed. If Solomon tore through the fabric of reality to allow demonic/spiritual influence into our world, then presumably reality itself can be warped and manipulated to a degree, which means an awful lot of creative license. If you do decide to set this up, you can count me in.

Reality presumably could be directly affected, yes, but I'm wanting to put in reins on godmodding. Shit, I was loath to include the ability of Witches to control human minds if they were sufficiently powerful. I just like the idea of the gods being fickle, seeing our mundane earth as being a plaything for their general amusement and a vent for their whim. Sort of like The Elder Scrolls' Daedric Princes; they don't directly intervene but they love to fuck about and spin webs of treachery. I sort of imagine one god going to another and saying "hey, a fiver says my patron persons could kick the ass out of yours." the other saying "you're on" and them engineering such a situation to settle the bet. They really are that much of a pack of bastards.

I'm tempted to have Solomon's Temple as the largest tear location where the real hotbed of magical power and corruption occurs, but having others in other countries particularly on holy sites or where other similar magical experiments were conducted.

I'm happy to develop the idea with you guys. I'd need at least 10 other eager, motivated, active (in spite of RL issues - I mean hell I work 6-on-4-off 60-hour weeks I can hardly be expected to be at the top of my game when I'm on night shifts) people to begin to get this off the ground.

Ten? Holy shit. That's like, twice the population of the Ziggurat.

You can count on me to fill TWO of those slots. :p

What I was thinking was less godmodding, more that there would be great potential for interesting magic, like folding magic to create bottomless bags and people inside parcels and stuff like that. I did think of something else t'other day, but now I can't remember what it was. It'll come back to me. Anyway, if I'm allowed to get creative I'd be all over that.

Actually, I like your thinkin'. You can be creative with the magical properties all you like. I think we ought to get something organised with this. I am enthused by your enthusiasm.

Also, apologies for blatantly hijacking your thread there, Vort...I had had a few bevvies and for some inexplicable reason thought it was a generic thread. Split the topic, if you like!

I had a question for you, Ash. You've designed the "warlock" class as controllers of the elements. What do you consider elements? Earth, Air, Fire, Water only, or other stuff as well?

No. I was thinking potassium, caesium and sulphur. :p

I am of course joking. Yes, I meant the four classical elements.
