Hey guys,

I have a model with a new skl. If somebody could animate it that would be great. If you have something like the animations listed below or know of one post it.

Animations Wanted:

Hands in the air acting like holding an invisible orb. (will add one with a particle system) (bone will need to be added for this animation)

Hand out palm facing enemy with other hand at hip.

Running animation

Walking animation

Hand up in the air animation (like gandalfs summon lightning)

Both hands out front side ways with palms facing enemy pushing out at him (energy ball will be shot from the center.) (Bone will need to be added)

2 standing still type animations you can choose)

and last one is: kneeling with palms down on earth with a bone in the center of the hands.

Urmmmm... do you know that about 10% (if even that) of this community can actually animate well?
And they all have their mods to work on...
This is the most difficult part of art...
It's hard enough to find modellers and skinners never mind animators...
Please re-think your question ;) Not trying to be mean...

10%?

I know about 3 other than me :p

edit: and two of those aren't even active anymore, or around for that matter.

You're better of trying yourself. Animating is time consuming, and that is being mild ;)

Go to the T3A site and look in the art section for animating.
Cahik does really nice tutorials.
The only animators I can think of are Lauri, Nertea, Cahik and Kwen I think or it was someone else (sorry if I didn't include your name but I don't really know many that do animate).
So that is about 1% of the community :p
If no one responds to your map requests and art requests then I doubt anyone would in animating considering that Kwen and Cahik are long gone and Nertea and Lauri have more important things to do I'm sure.
AsLauri said, do it yourself and even better, you will have an amazing skill that not manyh people have ;)

Animating takes time and precision, and a good eye (to see if you can get it as good looking as possible). Mostly takes time, all of the people who actually have experience with it either do not have time, or the will to animate. So indeed learn it yourself, not to be harsh, but chances are big that nobody will do it for you.

@Unknown
Perhaps I'm that someone else? Though I'll admit I've never taken/had much time to do some serious animating...
Yes Kwen did some animating ;) The people you mentioned are indeed the ones who can animate.

I don't think Nertea does any animating.
DIGI and I can both animate somewhat but with all the work between us can't even find time to do our own.

I would say the chances of getting someone to animate for you is Buckleys.

I admit I did it... a lot, but why do people still ask for help without trying out first?
For all you know you can be really good at it.

I did try it before its just so confusing. SO what i did was i stopped using the tutorial opened up RenX made a sphere and just made it move around and bounce and spin while moving. So now i have a some what better understanding for it.

Truth be told I think the request part of the name of this subforum should be removed.
Almost no requests are ever done for the reasons said above.
The reason people say you should try yourself is part laziness but also what happens when you need more.

A newer modder like yourself will have a harder time convincing senior modders (the only ones who can animate are either senior moddders or retired).
We can't be sure if it will be put to good use, most new mods fail and no one wants put that much time and effort into to something that may not pay off.

Just a thought but maybe they fail because nobody is willing to help them. Mine wont fail. Why would i spend so many hours doing it if i knew it would fail?

That's the point, you don't know if you'll fail or not.
And...
You don't need many people to make a mod work.
Me and Matias by ouselves get new units ingame completely sorted and I still class myself as a learner and not an expert.
In less than a week we got the wolves, goblins, gundabad orcs and gundabad cave with the units fully done (apart from the bannners and upgrades)
And that's just two of us. :p (And me being a learner... still ^_^)
You can't just stop something because it's difficult.
When I had a look at LUA scripting I was confused, I took time to learn and now I can understand a lot of it.
You can't attempt it once and say it's confusing so I'm gonna give up.
You say I'm gonna take time to look into this.
If you have hours to work on your mod then I'm sure you have hours to get better at things such as Art, Coding and WorldBuilder.
You're making a mod where you have asked for help on several occasions and that clearly means you aren't ready to do this yet.
Give it time and let it settle before you start your mod and asking to be hosted even though you've been on the site for a year.
No one in the world can be an expert modder within a year and start a proper mod.
Even better, try and help with other mods ;)
Over working on SaF for not even a month, I learned a lot about LUA and expert coding and more complicated language in coding.
So wait a while before you rush your mod.
I'm sure a few people can agree with me?... Right?... :crazed:

Well, yes I agree with you Unknown. You make a lot of good points.

However, I have one small problem with your post. I know you mentioned that stuff about SaF to support your point, but I think it would be best not to discuss progress on it. That should be reserved for Matias to do.

Unless of course Matias doesn't care. ;)

@Unknown: To be honest that post was worthless. I already knew that. I do have to say this: 5 hordes of warriors in week without upgrades? I put 15 new hero powers in a week each one unique and is perfected. Plus adding about one 1 horde a week and 2 or more heroes depending on command sets and if i can come up with ideas. 2 people should do twice what you are doing. The horde i put in is usually perfected with upgrades.. sometimes more.

But hey that's just the way i work.

and that's why i am doing all the stuff my self. i finally learned to do some good modeling and then i have to learn animating to. I can still ask because why should i do extra work if someone already has an animation set for it, and are willing to let me use it. I wouldn't know that until i ask. That is why i am working hard at learning almost every aspect of modding. the whole lot:

Mapper
Map.ini
Regular Coder
Skinner
Modeler
Animator

whats next? lol

Don't take offense to what i say above i am just being honest which is what people should do.

@DragonRider:
Okay then,
Make about 8 new models, make their own skin, code them in perfectly, LUA script a few of them in a week and then I will congratulate you and I will take back what I said.
In a week?
What I did is good for a year of experience.
Working on a original model? I could make about 30 different type of units for it in a day or two. That is beginner stuff.
Copy paste and rename. Is that hard?
And...
Just because you aproach the aspects of all those things doesn't mean you're good at it.
I have done mapping, map.ini coding, coding, LUA scripting, skinning, 2D art, modeling but it doesn't mean I'm good at all of them.
I can make a new unit within an hour now, (ini, exp levels, command button, commandset, horde) and it's easy.
Hero powers are easy, take an original power, change it to suit your new one, add FX effects and voila.
I don't like being like this but what I did was good and if not, Matias can tell me right now.

@Bender:
I made sure it was public knowledge already :p

Guys stop comparing how much work you do when there's no contest (because I win :) )

You can ask for help but you can't expect it.
Modding is a weird practice and very few can specialise and it becomes more and more impossible as the community shrinks.
Nertea had to teach himself how to code to get TDH off the ground.

It's one of those things if it's important you'll have to learn how to do it.
As for the animations you are after trying making some anim edits of Gandalf. ;)

Hahaha... Rad made a funny ._.
Though Rad is right that there is no reason to do any comparing, It's not like you're contributing to the actual topic/question at hand...
