So I was having issues with Contra - NO CD error.
I had CD in and tried both 1 and 2. Into both my drives. Nothing. Uninstalled and reinstalled without removing CD. Same thing.
For the hell of it I tried a No CD patch and it works now ...
Just in case someone else come in here with this problem.

This error is associate with Contra 006 but no longer related to Contra 007 (because 007 no longer mess with your game.dat file anymore). It might happens because you have problem with your launcher or "game.dat" file.
