So MTL's use of a lone Ent hanging out in the trees gave me an idea for additional creeps. Who says they have to be creatures of a dark nature? Im pretty sure Ents would protect forest areas and be much more fitting as creeps on maps like Fangorn.

I think the Forbidden pool (cloned and renamed) object would be a cool place for the Ents to hang around, kinda like Treebeards home where the hobbits drink the Ent Draught.

Very neat idea. Reminds me of this middle earth map for BFME1 where in the Fangorn forest part all the ents that where in the forest where hostile to everyone.

It sounds good, but I do think it wouldn't fit in texture on some maps. :wink_new:
Also you would have to remove the windows on the texture.

You have a point about the windows - which I didnt notice. The texture might clash a bit on certain maps, however I only planned to use them on maps in and around fangorn - so the number of locations doesnt need to be diverse.

The only other alternative would be to use the Ent moot as a creep lair instead. Which would be fine I suppose.

I'd prefer that, as we won't be using it anywhere else. (Perhaps the summon ents spell but besides that!) :p But I'm not gonna tell you what to do, you can decide for yourself.

I'm fine with either. The ent moot will simplify the process. So now when someone has time it'd be awesome to have this new creep coded.

A little side suggestion: treebeard could also get a special to dominate creep ents.

Nice idea, but dominate sounds a lil harsh for old treebeard.

The stone ring itself was not the Entmoot, that was the gathering of the Ents, which very rarily occured.

So a word of advice they should be VERY slow to respawn, perhaps only once each game.

PS.

Shepherd of Trees
Targeted Ents and Huorns are converted to Treebeard's cause!

Aren't we saucy today :p. Shepard of the trees, or Shepard of the forest would work nicely. Slow respawn sounds good but not so slow its once per game. Definately needs to be the longest respawning creep though.

On a side note, Untamed Allegiance should be edited so it only effects evil related lairs. (Goblins, trolls, drakes etc.) :wink_new:

Makes complete sense to me, another thought I had - about the notifications. usually when a creep lair comes into visual range the an audio notification like "a cave troll, kill it if it comes any closer". Im not sure if there any references to ents but im confident I could splice together some of the games audio to get a neat effect. I figure I could use "chop it down" and some of the other various confused sounding audio like " Eh, What?". If there are better ones Im all for it. I just need to locate them and play around.

Also, I was taking a break from SEE coding and made a compilation of the lairs that could be viable for SEE:

Already ingame/planned!
() = INGAME NAME!

"Evil" Themed Lairs - AKA: MONSTER LAIRS THUS CONVERTABLE BY UNTAMED ALLEGIANCE
Barrow Wight Lair (Barrow) - ONLY ON THE BARROW WIGHT THEMED MAPS THOUGH!
Cave Troll Lair
Dire Wolf Lair - Found in code, but probably ROTWK, so unsure!
Fire Drake Lair
Goblin Lair - Add all the SEE new stuff to the goblins, like spearmen etc.
Hill Troll Lair - Found in code, but probably ROTWK, so unsure!
Snow Troll Lair - Found in code, but probably ROTWK, so unsure!
Spider Lair
Warg Lair
Orc Lair (Orc Camp)

"Neutral" Themed Lairs - AKA: HUMAN LAIRS THUS NOT CONVERTABLE BY UNTAMED ALLEGIANCE
Wildmen Lair
Brigand Lair (Brigands' Hideout)

"Good" Themed Lairs - NOT CONVERTABLE BY UNTAMED ALLEGIANCE
Ent Lair (Entmoot)

May be updated as I think of more.

Ooh, good idea, mountain giant lair or stone giant lair. I think that untamed aliegiance should be more universal (as in what creeps it applies to) but be limited to creatures of lesser intelligence. This way certain heroes could be used to bring the higher intelligent creatures under their control. Wights should be non-recruitable either side.

EDIT:

Untamed Allegiance - Evil Spell book

Wargs
Dire Wolves
Spiders
Fire Drakes
Cold Drakes (grey skin drake with cold breath?)

Hero - allegiance Spells:

Evil

Wildmen
Corsairs
Cave Trolls
Snow Trolls (use cave troll SKL and anims)
Goblins
Orcs
Stone Giants

Good

Ents

Non-recruitable - Niether Spellbook or Hero

Barrow-wights
Brigands
