Problem With Adding New Voxels To Yuris Revenge

Hi All,
as you all can guess im new to the modding community....sadly...
anyways what i wanted to ask

is could someone give me a hand on how to add new units to yuris revenge please ?
i've played some mods in the past for YR and thought they was pretty cool.
but i was just thinking i would like to have old units revamp'ed and maybe have some new units added to the normal game of yuris revenge ?....(if thats possiable)
i been looking around on YR Argentina's website at the Voxels on the site some are really cool.
now heres the problem im having...

say i wanted to add ohhh maybe the
Phalanx Tank, (as a somewhat stronger AA battery, as well as being mobile)
Templer MBT ( as the allied's verison of the soviets Apocalpse tank)
Ambulance ( as the rapid response healer, to heal a unit and get out, basically a infantry healing verson of the IFV+engineer

(this is just the starting units i'd like to be put in to my game)...
least till i've learnt? how to implement them in to the game with working parts and everything...

thanks a million in advance for any help you'll can give this noobie XD
oh p.s...
i've learnt how to edit existing units looks...all i needed to do was add the files to RA2's folder but thats easy... (thankfully) even tho that still look 3 hours lmao

oh and if it helps at all / if its usefull information that would help ? my copy of YR is the first decades copy


...and one more thing... (sorry for being a pain)
is there any way to add more colors to the skirmish modes sides options
without having to edit exisiting colors (im after keeping the old colors as they are, and adding mm maybe 4 extra colors)
like pink - i've changed to silver but it only shows it once in game.
i've tryed just adding new colors to YR.... but failed :<
spent like 2 days worth watching youtube videos, and looking on nearly every C&C website trying to work out what i was doing wrong...

Mmm... Im dont understand what you need... You want to add new voxels or add new units to rulesmd.ini?

If oyu need know how to add new unit in the rulesmd.ini, you must create a unit code into rulesmd.ini (copy/paste existing code from other vehicle and modify it) and later list it into vehicletype list section in rulesmd.ini(if your unit is a vehicle) if you dont list the unit they dont appear in the game...

Hey Nextgen,

sorry...im guessing thats why i've not had many replys...
i honestly :p dont know the difference..
but basically what im after doing (in the long run)

is having original Yuris Revenge - but with almost ? a full revamp on what units look like and so on,
in addiction i'd like to add new units to the game.
heres an idea of what im looking for

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - -
British Sniper = Deployable Sniper i'd like that to be edited to the deployable one (with the sandbags)
Being the british special unit i'd like it to have a small improvement in stats
Undeployed - Shoots at normal range, and fires are normal speed.
Deployed - Shoots at a higher range, and fires faster.

Allied Sniper = US Sniper i'd like this to be any other allied sides sniper,
without the ability to deploy, and just under the orignal games snipers stats.

Soviet Sniper = Soviet Sniper i'd like this to be the soviets sides sniper with same stats as the allied sniper.

Medic = Medic i'd like this to be useable on both allied and soviets side. ....i managed to get the medic in to allied side once but the cameo was missing.
not sure if yuris side are able to self-heal ?... i remember seeing something somewhere but forgot where... but if they cant i'd like yuri to have one too.

American Seal = Delta Force i'd like the Delta Force unit to take place of the SEAL, when playing american. and on this i'd like to see improve stats for the seal...and renamed for america ofc XD.

i'd also love to see many 1 or 2 new (Hero units) added in to my game.

Snake - Snake i'd like this to be a 2nd hero unit for allied side, with stats befitting to a hero unit, and snake XD.

Natalya - Natalya i'd like this to be the soviets 2nd hero unit. with possiable the same stats as she as from RA3, and around about the same shoot range for her rifle as the british sniper.

Terminator - Terminator Posted Image i'd like to see this as yuris 2nd Hero unit... (i surpose its only far to let yuris side have some addons too lol....
basically being a cyborg its been programed to help yuri ( as no sane person would help yuri willingly lol).
anyways for this i'd love to see it in (ofcourse) , its weapon being a minigun for ground +
able to shoot down aircraft ( same stats as the gatting tower for yuri in this case)
also being a cyborg i'd like to see it have an improvement to take damage, there for making it able to take on more damage the other hero units could.

the only modding i've learned up to now how to do is the simple (editing exisiting units) like the
patriot missile - Patriot Posted Image which i managed to make look like the REAL patroit missile system.

.....im guessing it would be a LOT easyer for you / someone else. adding the files and stats themselfs then spending the time to explan it to me....
because .... im not going to lie lol... i am thick as pig s**t when it comes to modding :p.

i've played some of the modded games before , Deezire, Mental Omega.
they was really good dont get me wrong... but with mental omega being unfinished
and deezire.. (being good ...but the berzerk cloud (which is that red cloud that floats around like what happens when virus kills a unit...)
the berzerk cloud was soooo annoying... i could not have units out i had to have to defences up everywhere because EVERY single time... the cloud (that lasts forever) hits one of my units.
it would go around attacking everything and units being attacked would not attack back.. so it sucked because of that =/....

but i would love to have YR with complete revamp and remake to make it that more fun.

i thought i was manageing to work out how to add / edit things but i hit a roadblock when it come to trying to add the SHP files to the game ? and the new units....
god i got so annoyed with that...

oh and just want to say crid's go to the owners of the units i've listed, (thought i'd say that so i dont get in to trouble XD)

and a thank you and major crids go to you for trying to help me if you can nextgen..

XD i hope thats enough information :p ?

sorry for the delayed reply to your post, i've just been tired up and away from home past few days.
ill most likely be back tommorow, so ill try see if the link helps me get somewhere,

would it help with adding new infantry and building in to ?

The way to add buildings and infantry to the game is similar to way to add vehicles... But you try to add new vehicles first and tell me your results...

hey next, i did all the steps it says on the tutorial... but it didn't help what so ever =/.... if anything all i learned was how to add the unit details to the artmd.ini and the rulesmd.ini

it told me to add the vxl's, hva and i added a cameo to the XCC mod creator, so i did then i added details on to unit details to the art and rules ini
then thats it........ doesn't say what to do next or anything =/....

would be nice if there was a program (that works) that would add the files and whatever else that is needed to the game,
all ya'd need to do is add the cameo that you want, and edit stats how your want...

Im have bad english and dont understand what you need... Where you from?

If you need add cameos use same way witch you use to add voxels and shps... Or you need know how to create new cameos?

no, im just stateing what i've got up to,
the cameo - when i was on the mod creator

i saw a place for the cameo so i thought that i needed to add that too

what i need is to be able to add FULLY working units into my game =/

new looks , new units and buildings

You don't need XCC Mod Creator for your modding efforts yet, that is only for compiling a neatly shareable exe to share the mod conveniently than bunch of files, for basics your better off just placing the files in your RA2 directory, hva,vxl,ini,shp etc, once you have better grasp of basics you should dump the files into mix files/or move to using xcc mod creator for cleaner folder.

XCC Mod creator doesn't literally create a mod so you are likely confused and only dragged artwork/files to its sections but did not build the exe so you see nothing at all in the game.

Other thing is that artmd.ini/rulesmd.ini apply for YR while non-md ones apply to basic ra2 which might be another thing to fail in.

i looked on both RA2, And YR2 none at the templer tank for ex~
