Well, I'll just make a summary of what's going on here.

Crisis came, sadly it was elections year so no anti-crisis measure was taken.
Later, they took austerity measures (when it was a bit too late, some say.) respectively cutting state salaries with 25%. They wanted to cut the pensions with 15% as well, but then they decided to raise the VAT from 19% to 24%. And that was it. We're still waiting for the crisis to pass and raise the salaries again. Or at least this is what our government wants.

So, nowadays, if someone sees those official cars with cops and whatnot behind, they boo them. It doesn't matter who it is, they simply boo them.

Therefore, I'm wondering: Are people acting like that in other states as well? I personally consider that what they're doing is pointless, yes we have a rather very corrupt system, but heck, booing them won't help at all. Rather recently, the Regional Development and Tourism Minister (aka this chick) was booed for taking part at a rather popular box match here. I still find it a bit...don't know.

The Romanian states are receiving 25% less salary? That seems horrifically major. Here in the US, the most drastic form of salary cut that can happen to a state is their highway funding, and that wouldn't compare to receiving 25% less income. If I was there, and living in a city where I depended on government funding, I would certainly take action. Gun violence, preferably. Rich folk's cryptonite.

Still, that's too anarchist to me.

Thing is, in 2008 we had a 42 bn EUR budget, now it's about 26 bn. So... depends how you interpret it.

Anarchy is a strong word... so is extortion, but one must sooth the other eventually. But then again, I don't know if your government is acting in a behavior that benefits the survival / strength of Romania or just extorting the people for the survival / strength of its politicians, depending if that figure from 2008 is necessary to match today. But if the common Romanian civilian has come to the point where every Romanian politician has become one singular icon of hatred, I say politics have gone far out of their authority, making they themselves anarchists. You've seen a lot of revolutions taking place in North Africa and the Middle-East recently, and that's because bad politicians are a global theme. Is there any sight of this issue being solved politically? Like any new party movements or potential game changing officials willing to be elected?

You're asking if in all our countries everyone hates cops?

Well, yes, in a word. :p

Pity cops ain't more like Axe Cop.

Reducing pay and pension is a pretty common way to get out of economic turmoil. It sucks if the rich does not eat the same medicine, but it has proven effective in the past.

Personally I don't mind VAT increases, if you are a firm you don't have to pay it all anyway, but reducing pay with 25% is brutal, especially if the wages already are minimal. It can provoke more corruption and less taxes being paid, thus amplifying the crisis.

Hopefully things will even out in the long run, but that depends on our leaders...

Twenty-five percent can sound like a lot, but if it's already low enough, 25 percent isn't all that much. But it can still be a lot if you're fucking relying on it. Still though, shit sucks, bro.
