I usually don't get involved in web browsing wars which only seems to be between Firefox and Chrome anymore, so don't confuse this with any of that. I have some very interesting news about Google Chrome's latest advancements. The Chrome engine updated the other day, allowing certain interesting applications to be used. One in particular is Ghostery.

Ghostery is like a god application among adblocking and tracking detection, and more importantly, tracker blocking. Ghostery has a prebuilt hit-list of bugs and company tracking names, and for fun, I enabled them all to be blocked. Not only can I not be tracked, tagged or ID'ed by a very large percentage of company listings (and see them tracking me, like Google Analytics is right now at Revora), but I can bypass regional codes. I'm in region 1, and I can't watch any other region media devices. Ghostery blocks my region and I can actually use region 2 & 3 devices. I just tested it on UK Link.

But that's just one application I found amazing. Among others is the list of free games, Planetarium, Biodigital Human white noise.

Well, that's all fine and dandy, but it won't be converting me anytime soon. So those amateurs at Google are making advancements, big deal. Games? Meh, nothing but fluff. And Firefox just sounds like a second rate browser.

I've always used IE and probably always will. I don't care if other browsers may be seen as better. Period.
I'm not very picky when it comes to my internet browser. As such, I don't ask much from it.

And besides that, for reasons unknown to me, I just don't like Google.

Edit: I should add that I don't get the whole fanboy mentality. So someone likes a particular browser more than another one. That's great, but why try to shove it down other people's throats? (Not that I'm accusing you of this.)

I'd say, find a browser you like and shut the fuck up. (To anyone like that.)
I may like IE, but that doesn't mean I'll give two shits, if everyone else hates it.

...

BTW, Sorry for the rant.

Holy fuck an IE user. Switch now. To anything. Please.

And honestly, it sounds like you would love chrome. It's base is very minimal. Like not even the top inch of my screen is has everything I need, the rest is webpage.

You mean like this? :p
Edit: BTW, I never go fullscreen with IE, and yes, I realize I have an awesome backdrop, and tons of shorcuts and taskbar icons. :crazed:

Got Chrome in addition to Firefox at home. It is faster, but I like my add-ons in firefox. So I'll use both depending on what I'm doing.

Same here. Firefox has all my bookmarks and a load of web development addons so I use it for most of my browsing. Chrome I use mostly to watch videos on YouTube because it seems to handle the flash plugin better than FF (on Linux at least).

I tried...

Honestly, I have never seen a difference in browser performance (besides IE (on the down side of performance)) between Chrome and Fox after using both sort of like you for some time, Sith. Now all this app stuff is coming out, taking advantage of each browser's engines, and I prefer Chrome's engine and apps (they both have unique apps, with a few exceptions).

And Gan, I honestly don't know how you can hate Google more than Microsoft when Google has timely proven they have superior services and rarely ask for money for their products (Google Earth pro is the only thing they want money for, I believe). But I won't try and convince you... keep on using IE and Bing to your own leisure. I'm already predicting now that Microsoft will be creating a public social network you can also be enjoying in the future.

I used to use Chrome for this too. That was until google's bullshit updater decided to run an update without my permission, which then chugged and brought a CPU core with it. I uninstalled Chrome right after that and have since blocked all google services from running.

@ Ganon:
I wouldn't be using IE simply because of the security issues. But hey, its your call, even if 'it sounds like a second rate browser' and 'I just hate google for no reason' are some of the worse excuses I've ever heard for not using them. XD

IE is horrible, it is the worst browser and only seems to be getting worse, IE is the second rate browser.
Firefox has always been to cluttered and kind of chunky to me, I love chrome it runs well it's simply the better browser.
I just noticed Ganon even has Norton installed :S

So, I figured I would just install Chrome and see what all the fuss is about.
Text looks all funny now.

I can't complain though. During the install, they told me I was awesome. Posted Image

I have to have all the browsers installed to test website browser compliance. I had to uninstall chrome becuase it acted like a retard. I'll get it back and fix it. IE9 isn't a bad browser though. MS can't seem to understand a few pixel in web developement means a lot. Even Opera fucks up. EVERY browser sucks in different flavors.

Well, aside from the text looking all weird now, Chrome isn't bad.

I haven't noticed any speed difference, but IP Board's features all seem to work now. With IE9 I couldn't use the multi-quote button.
There are a couple other things that just didn't work quite right, but it looks like they wont be a problem now. :good:
