No pics from the movie for Ruins of Rhudaur. Just a quote from two sources. ;p

...but this new country seem threatening and unfriendly. As they went forward the hills about them steadily rose. Here and there upon heights and ridges they caught glimpses of ancient walls of stone, and ruins of towers: they had an ominous look.

Not far ahead were dreary hills, rising higher and higher, dark with trees. On some of them were old castles with an evil look, as if they had been built by wicked people.

I have already finished the map for SEE and I the ini, art and pic are ready.

The map below is kinda what I was thinking of re-making into a Gundabad minifortress map. With it being less of what you were saying. ;( But if you are willing to map what you were thinking of that would be an epic map!

Here is my first version - which I would redo but only make a minifortress that can't be entered.

Well when the ruins is done send it my way.

The first pic, looks like it could get edited into a sweet fortress mountain overlooking the valley.

LOL... EA never ceases to surprise me. The Cardolan map from ROTWK is actually the Halifirien map from BFME. :thumbsdownsmiley:

OK... MTL youre now holding up the lunch line. If you get some time, could you wrap up Ruins of Rhuduar ( "Great East Road") and weathertop. So I can get them into the game? Atleast Great east road, since it only needs start locations and gollum points. :thumbsupxd:

For the snow textures? Or is it that you like the snow maps? Or that you like the new snow maps that are coming? :crazed:

I'll send them to you late sunday, NJM. Weathertop just needs playtesting to check and see if units can actually climb to the top of it - and possibly a little map expansion to the west. I completed Great East Road yesterday I just need to connect my computer to the internet.

Any pics of the Rivendell map? I'm interested in if it is more like it is in the movie. The original EA version is just garbage.

Ahhhh, well I don't think anyone at SEE has started the Rivendell map. I have my own projects that I am doing, as you can check out here. And I don't know if NJM has started a Rivendell map.

I started it, but its such a huge mess. Im not sure I can fix it. I mean literally spent hours trying to get it to look right. I may have to sacrifice the house of Elrond being the fortress object to do this right. To make things worse now theres these new sections from the hobbit that have me scratching my head..... Ive got great pics of the Weta Environment but the whole thing hurts my head.

I think they flipped Elrond's house for the Hobbit. Now what was the left side is on the right, and vice-versa. I would say that it's unmappable, at least using the vanilla objects.

I dont know if Id say unmappable.... but pretty close to confusing. namely the base of the stairs where the dwarves are encircled by elronds riders. However it seems like an entirely new part of rivendell since nothing lines up with the old.

This is as close as I could get

Well, it is a new path to Rivendell, I think it's safe to assume it's also a new entry to the city. But I don't have any proof.

I just watched the scene when the dwarves arrive from the hidden pass. Thee is an entire new section behind the house of Elrond and the area where the dwarves are encircled is to the right of the lone building on the right of the environment.

Great shot, you can really figure everything out with this shot

Here's another good shot.

vlcsnap-2013-03-21-21h27m17s73.png

Notice the large lake that sits above the city. Not necessary, but it would be some cool scenery.

I could see how Sauron would have a hard time taking that city. The only entrance is a lone toothpick of a bridge
