Not a balancing issue. The reactor is internal and the hangars are filled in, so I've always figured it must be slower. I think you're right that it wouldn't carry Army units, but I'm not sure I can speculate that those areas would be replaced with empty space or not. Maybe it has an absurd supply of consumables, or the Army desks are instead dedicated to Intel?

With some luck, we'll know more in 20 days. CGTW comes out on April 3rd. I know that the term Star Destroyer will be canonically addressed, as well as ship classes and terminology; to some extent. Be ready to meet the Anaxes classification system, our new (best?) pal.

If it's hard then it's worth doing.

Given the scales capital ships operate at, additional power from removal of living area and such is negligible compared to the tremendous output the reactor has.

the hanger on the ISD took up a considerable amount of space, more than . i'm thinking that the reactor might have had some of its components moved forward to allow the core to sit "higher: if you will, inside the ship. it would explain the lack of a bulb.
and i was mainly going by the mass of the ship. when it comes to shield strength, one could argue that the removal of the Hangers and reactor bulb result in a more streamlined shield projection, as there wouldn't be the weaker shields near the hanger bay opening, nor the "speed bump" created by the reactor bulb

upon looking at the cross section of the ISD from the Incredible Cross Sections book, i cant really figure out why the Tector doesnt have the reactor bulb. the absence of the hanger could mean that some of the living quarters may be moved into the now empty space. that would allow the reactor to be moved up, and with some of the internals rearranged, but realistically, i imagine the engineers at KDY would want the Tector to be as close to the ISD as possible from a design perspective. a smaller reactor wouldnt make sense either.

Not really. SFS would charge more for a reactor variant! Better to have the same one in both!

While the Tectors might not have a fighter hangar, they would logically have to have at least a pocket hangar for shuttles--otherwise, how are you going to get personnel and supplies on and off?

pretty sure the cargo holds have some form of hatch, albeit one that you need a drydock for. i can also see there being a small hanger similar to the forward hanger on an ISD for Lambda class shuttles, etc for VIP usage, but thats about it

Well, that's what you get for requesting time off in the Empire. :crazed:

Anyways, space stations.

Dock to a space station with a hangar, then fly down to the planet with an auxilary craft from the station.

Death Stars, i noticed that they arnt in your mod? i think? or are they? idk...i think not...one why arnt they in the mod, two if you do put them in v1.2 or v1.3 what would the time to build them be? on the 1st death star, i think would be avaliable before the 2nd, but also take two times the amound of time to build? or would you think of making the death star and Empire on Space Station? since it is qualified as a space station would you look to do that? and to move it from planet to planet amke it cost something or be even longer then it already is for ships to get from one planet to the other..........?
just a good ol fashioned question
