Indeed, Ridder is right.. =) Online sources for the 2D UI, a lot of manipulation for the textures... but well, im not using or claiming nobody's work, i guess =) Thus, the textures had been seriously redrawed, so i guess they're mostly mine =)

But true being said, i never got an white screen and started drawing a texture. im still a bit new to this, UWV mapping is beyond my dreams =D

Thanks for the representation, guys =) hehe

Most people take stuff from elsewhere and then edit it or kitbash it together. At least it was that way back in the days when I was still modding. Funny how most of that is technically copyright infringement...

The skins aren't,
Some of the 2D is.

If you say that the skins/models are copyright then that means that a lot of mods are copyright in a way:
People edit models
People edit skins
EA don't have a license so that doesn't matter.

In the case of War in the North, we'll remove them ;)

Heheheh, true thing, Phil.

Theres always the "Fair use" grey zone, but yeah, i think thats a copyright break since the early beginning's.. u see.. even use the names in the lore and another stuff can be
a copyright break =D

And afterwards, in case of the art stuff, its even more filled with references and cultures and inspirations.. in the end, is a constant change of what already exists =)
But, its all for fun and LOTR love, for we all =D heheh

Oh I didn't say you can't do that. Most modders do/did. I was saying that it's weird how this is considered perfectly normal, even though technically it's illegal.

I dont see a need for removing it, Unknown. We being transparent here, i think our objective
here as team isnt to make people believe we're awsome artists or genious coders.. i think the
idea is to create a good mod, with graphic and coding standarts of the EA vanilla and the great
mods we have out there.

If the forum is agaisnt this kind of picture or it don't fits on your bookrules,
then for sure we will adapt it .=)

For the end, i think that we dont plan or want to break any laws, but yes, produce a cool mod. =)
And yes.. I've spent like 36h doing a 4096 X 4096 texture for a elvenwood, based on the vanilla EA
texture. every line was remade, restyled, much has been changed itself.

That makes the texture mine? well, the law says no.

So.. theres no point on claiming "whos work on who".
Just be clear, honest and make a good job =)

True, true,
But I would love to see someone sue me anyway, if they're lucky they'd get about $1000 :xd:
But in the end, I see a mod for the players, not for myself :p
They enjoy playing it, not me ;)

To what Phil pointed out; I think it's a 'new-kid, awesome buttons, must be stolen' issue.
For the buttons you've made luh, you've done a damn good job, more than most care to put such an effort into. They all looks awesome, so I think that's why some start to question your work. Also because you seemed to come of as a "I've done all of this myself" kinda guy in the start, but you've never claimed to make all the buttons from scratch, so I don't see the issue.

Continue doing awesome stuff ;)

Don't worry, it's not important to know exactly what you did now that you've clarified that you haven't stolen anything ;)
Now it's just all about showing your stuff, we'll say "great job" and everyones happy!

So, great job!

ehehe, thanks, im happy.. :shiftee2: its works!!! :smile2ap: Got and argument with vala about mirkwood elves havin to be stealthtish and have an proper brown/green/black armor,
but i still like the idea of giving them some skin... =) So, heavy armor for him =D

About the face mask, saw some great models around that uses that idea,, and gah.. its too tempting to slip it over, mostly in a stealth unit =D

Have you considered instead of making them all brown, to create a second, brownish texture for them which you can then vary between?

Hmmm, thats a interesting idea, indeed! But should i variate the hair color too? i mean, i saw some ppl doing it, but mostly for the stealth, its a bit much of constrast, thus is very lorish and accurate =)

But nice idea indeed, i suppose i will take to Photoshop again^^ Sad thing, i got inspired to draw some athenians last week, saw 300 and such... hehehe

There is the middle variations between the light/heavy armor. i didnt used this skin, was wondering what to do with it.. u gave me a nice idea =D

Second concept. Third coming. And fourth. =D

Posted Image

Updated^^

U see, i can be crazy, but looks like the UWV used the hair texture (or a mini part of it) to draw the arrows in the quilver.. same thing for the belt n' bow.. =D
funny hehe
