Looking very nice this one, adding the things that I feel missed in the core package.

Neat. It sounds really interesting, though I must admit that I never really seem to get into civilisation. It's one of those games that i think looks cool, and I am happily bewildered by those massive tech tree things that came as part of the manual (which I find interesting to... 'explore' i guess would be the word), but when it came to the actual game I never ended up staying with it for too long.

I think I installed civ 1, then after getting bored skipped to 3 i think it was and played a bit longer before quikcly getting bored again. I never installed the latest ones cause I was hoping to be able to play all the earlier ones first without getting spoiled by the improvements that no doubt come in the sequels, then just got bored with the gameplay itself and went onto something different.

I own the collection thing, which came with civ 1 through to either 4 or 5, and a card game, i'd say i actually played the card game more than the actual computer games XD
Still, one day i'll finally get around to playing the latest version :p
(i say the same thing about baulders gate 2. Own it as part of a collection but haven't played it yet).

I'm just waiting for them to make Civ into a first person shooter.

Civ 4 was pretty damn fine at the end there, and now with this expansion I suspect civ5 will get closer to that. civ 5 is pretty casual to get into, so I'd recommend doing a few games in it.

I've been thinking heavily about buying the game. I'm tired of my old ones...

If you don't mind long games with many sub-goals and a lot of strategy, you can't get anything better. I dunno how much it costs online now, probably was cheaper before this announcement, but it is worth the money imo.

Oh, trust me. Hostile'll love this game. :p

Interesting. Any idea when it's penned for release?

late spring, so may I wager. Good that you don't have to wait for too long :)
