Storyline (half assed):
The Tiberium Wars are over and are now a fading memory in the minds of Earth's citizens. Seeing that Nod had been utterly annihilated, the Global Defense Initiative was forced to step down and disband. GDI is now a fading memory as well.

It's 3022. It has been many a decade since someone mentioned the names GDI and Nod. They have faded into the past but for the soldiers, they still cling to their once found glory in the GDI's ranks. They pray for their fallen brethren and curse the Nod soldiers who had fought so vailiantly as they had.

The wars took a mighty toll upon the planet as did the Tiberium plague. Decades later however, Tiberium is no longer a problem. Scientists unraveled the mystery of the Tiberium crystals and veinholes. They were able to remove all traces of the Tiberium scourge; even healing those who were stricked with mutations. World leaders have declared the exact spot where Tiberium was first discovered an international landmark and it is now a popular tourist attraction among foreign people. It is still a grim reminder of what transpired less than 50 years earlier.

Where the Tiberium had once grown and thrived, there developed a new, harmless crystal. It was unlike anything the scientific community had ever seen before. They knew nothing about it, or its origins. It seemed to be a by-product of the Tiberium. Many disagreed on the origins and its composition and no one could ever reach an agreement.

Well, with this new crystal came a following of fanatics believeing it was a gift from God. These fanatacists became obsessed with the crystals, even forming a cult based upon them. They claimed they had divine powers but obviously they had no proof of such claims. Miraculously, people began to believe as they needed something to believe in and give them hope for a better life.

Their cults spread like wildfire among the citizenry. They were becoming a fullblown religion. Political leaders were beginning to fear the worst; they feared that the 'Crystal Cult' would become violent. And their fears were met, the Crystalians, as they were called, attacked a small urban settling in the southern United States.

In response to this, political leaders set an ultimatum for the Crystalians to leave the town. If they did not comply, they would be attacked. The fanatics did not comply and thus began the next chapter of wars.

Factions -
Crystal Tribes
The Protectorate
Civilian Enforcement Agencies (sp only)

Money Systems -
crystals
ore/gold
minerals

The storyline needs a little work. I know.

Basically we need a mod that goes beyond the Tiberium time frame. I thought it was time that we explored the possibilities beyond.

Interesting... I like the idea of both GDI and Nod being disbanded, although many may not associate it with the Tiberian Universe.

It's a good continuation to the story, though. I can't wait to see this unfold further.

I take it the Protectorate are the GDI soldiers your story spoke of at the beginning, though?

This may sound like a coincidence but I had a mod with the exact same name and basic idea. Never got round to doing it, though.

Tiberian Worlds: Dawn of a New Era

In the late 2040's, the world had reached a new step. Translation of the Tactitus (lead by Dr. Gabriella Boudreau) had revealed new advances in tiberium-based technology, it also held the key to stopping this plague once and for all. Its use was once the cause for the monstrosities that grew on the planet, now it was the downfall. Major cities were being cleansed of any tiberium-related traces, tiberium creatures were being safely neutralised. The world was finally getting back on its feet.
There was only one thing that stopped GDI in its quest for the removal of tiberium, Nod. After Cabal had been defeated they entered in an uneasy alliance with GDI. They had no form of AI, leaving them at a disadvantage.
However, they had been working on the next generation of tiberium-based weapons, even reusing some older technology that was used in the 1st Tiberium War. They started restarting their original terrorist activities, disrupting the plans of GDI in any way possible. There was, however, one thing that neither side expected, and it was determined to make sure nothing on Earth would be the same again...

I basically wanted to return to the original C&C feel of things, which I personally preferred.

No, The Protectorate is a new group of soldiers. I will tell more as I go deeper into the storyline.

So are you planning on making one of the resources use veinhole logic or something similar to harvest it, because there are three?

Yeah. There are three types of Tiberium in the game. Minerals will essentially be a different colored piece of ore. Might stick with two though.

Still deciding what to do with the Veinhole logic. Might make it a diamond mine for special missiles.

Nah. That would seem stupid. Why would diamonds be used in missiles? Besides it's basically the same as the TS Veinhole. If I were you i'd try to think of another use for it. If you were doing diamonds, I'd suggest a more defensive approach. Perhaps it powers up a Firestorm Defence-style thing, only this defence looks a hell of a lot better and isn't just flames catapulted up from the wall (instead flashes acrossways like a laser fence?)

You'd also have to work out what would be spawning the diamonds, and also lower the bloody GrowthRate. Last thing I want is my base flooded with glittering gems. My soldiers might get greedy

You might just want to concentrate on all the other half-finished mods first.

While I agree somewhat he should keep his priorities right, hes made good headway with 1.002, Supremecy is on hiatus for reasons unnapplicable, and he is juggling several other items, but considering, hes doing really quite well.
Natus 3.4

Corrupt program now requires constant reboots and does not function at all in majority of instances. Designed with a web browser component to replace AOL, it has exceeded our expectations by being more crashy and unreliable and with worse tech support. We didn't think it was physically possible! A general product recall is advised; when it does function it seems to require background processes Girl 0.1Beta to stave off further crashes. Will someone PLEASE remove that code, and insert Backbone 1.9 in its place? That's assuming we even bother to continue this prog.

It's just an idea. And I only have 2 half finished mods. One of them is just about complete already. Only about an hour or 2 of work left on it. Can't work on one of my mods until I get my modeler back. :
