Ok, so I really need to convert a .w3d model into something that Blender can open up.
I would prefer the .3ds format, but I can settle for something else.

I googled a bit, and I found evidence of Lord of the Rings Junkie having worked out a method of doing just that. Here.
However, one of the links to a crucial part of the process leads to a filler page stating that the domain is up for grabs.

If I could just get a hold of that .obj exporter script for gmax, then I'm sure I would be well on my way.

Anyone think you can help me?

Edit: I wont need the .obj import plugin for 3dsmax 6, obviously, as Blender can already import .obj.

That's when the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine comes in handy.

Try this link: http://web.archive.o...zzy_obj_tool.ms

Awesome! Thanks.

Edit: Hmm, it doesn't seem to work right, but I managed to find a different script somewhere on the interwebz. Oh well, I managed to do what I was trying to do anyway.

Still, thanks for looking into it.
