I'm having issues typing posts.
When typing out the posts my cursor/text will randomly jump places like it will suddenly start typing in the middle of the above line.
I've also noticed a bit of dickiness when dealing with Bold and Italics tabs.

Haven't experienced any such thing. What browser are you using? Have you tried refreshing your browser cache and clearing this board's cookies? Are you running the latest version of your browser?

I just now noticed we can see what topics guests are viewing now... that's fantastic, and let me tell you why. We get a lot of traffic at different times for various reasons, and we never know what is getting traffic and what's not half the time. Since we can see what guests are looking at now, we can see what's grabbing people's attention. I'm absolutely taking advantage of that, and I hope you other staffers do too.

I'm using Chrome and it's patched.

I do like the Tag feature and I'll have to tag all of my LW posts.

Sorry if this sounds dumb or something. But why do we have to redo the T3A skin? the new ip board looks almost the exact same so shouldnt the skin upload fairly the same? or is it to do with image maps and stuff?

The board looks very different just like the last one did from the one before it.

I cannot believe that the official C&C forums are now actually more readable than this one!

I have always found the idea of 'near white' background forums to be ridiculous when it comes to a forums readability, but this seems to be the direction that forums are going.

As far as I remember, Madin, Revora always used a clean light forum skin.
The divisions is that had their own styles, but everything is going to be temporary. We just need to give time for a new skin to be made.

kudos to Pasidon for this awesome avvy and siggy!

Not sure what you're getting at. Black text on (near) white background is the best you can get in terms of contrast.

That depends on how your monitor deals with large areas of white. For my monitor it is a strain on the eyes to have so much brightness and has such it most definitely does not help with the readability of the forum.

For reference even the lightly coloured, but slightly blue tinted text background of PPM is fine.

Yeah, it's not the most exciting and fun job in the world to make a skin. My sanity only allows me to work on a skin every so often. :p

I have a bunch of annoying dead time at uni these days when I can't do much other than write text files. If someone could give me a short primer on how to do the skin work, I might be tempted to try.

Also, last IPB version had a nice lightweight mobile version included. Any chance we can get something like that back?

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

Basically all you do is edit one or two template bits (mostly HTML) and a lot of CSS bits. It's really not complex to edit, it just takes time to get right. The only tool you need is a webbrowser. I can give you access to the skinning tools in the Admin CP so you can take a look.

Actually we do have an improved mobile version. It doesn't seem to be visible in the skin chooser (I'll change that), but it's there when you access the forums on your smartphone.

Ok, that'd be good. Pm me the bits, I'll have a look sometime.

Doesn't seem to be showing up on my phone (HTC Desire), but I expect when you add it to the skin list I'm sure it'll be selectable.

I am fairly good at HTML and am OK at CSS. so if you have a problem with a peice i can try and help with it. I can add the skins in if a template is done. i have done that before.

@Nert

I have had no problem with the mobile version on my iphone 4. Sure there is no skin but it still works just fine. Just lots of white :) not a big deal.

EDIT:

I just found this: http://community.inv...al-skin-editor/

I've given you access to the skinning section of the Admin CP. That way you can take a look for yourself and compare the different bits and pieces.
