Colony Wars is a Game Mod for Yuri's Revenge. the Game takes on an alternate interpretation of the Storyline. The Giant Ants have resurfaced during the initial onslaught of Yuri's Defection. Now the World is in a great battle forced into 4 Ultimate Sides. The Allies, Soviets, Yuri & the Colony.

The Sides have been revamped heavily. Each of the original Three Sides now have 3 Sub-Sides. Explained in the next subsequent posts connected to this. I'll update those Topics each whenever I get some major update or tweaks. Aside from the new Side and tweaks to the original sides. You get other new toys and such. Each Side has a different MBT now, and each side has more than one unique unit.

The Colony is a formalized side of the Giant Ants. They rely on constant unit rush and have very durable units. Most of their units serve dual roles. (I.e: Basic Infantry also serves as Scout & Detector Unit,Basic Naval Unit also serves as the Side's Advanced Ambush Unit similar to the Mirage Tank)They're buildings do not run on base power but in general are more expensive.

Allies:

The Attack Dog has the best sight & speed

Grand Cannon is now universally available.

Allied Walls are now the toughest Walls available in-game.

Spy - The Spy is now the most agile espionage unit. Unlike the Soviet & Yuri Counterpart it cannot be crushed allowing it to have better survivability.

Western Alliance (Specializes on Infantry Units)

Hero Unit: Tanya

Unique Units:

Airborne - Elite Infantry who are armed with a heavy Machine Gun. They can rip through most targets with enough numbers. They're elite training allows them to attack both aerial targets as well. They are exclusively paradropped. Aside from this they function pretty much the same as a Basic Infantry, being able to Garrison Buildings.

Medic - Medics can be trained from the Barracks or can be paradropped alongside the Commando, Medics actively seek out injured infantry within its guard range. Medics are immune to Poison & can self heal.

Grizzly Tank - Medium Tank, Has the longest range among the MBTs.

Raptor - The Most powerful airstrike unit for the Allies. The Raptor can deliver powerful missile attacks on their targets. The Raptor has decent speed & armor. Their missiles cannot penetrate bunkers.

European Joint (Specializes on Armored Units)

Hero Unit:
Apollo - Apollo comes in 2 Versions, A Vehicle Version and an Infantry Version (Becomes default on Meat Grinder). Apollo is armed with a prism rifle, which makes him highly effective against enemy buildings and infantry.

Panther Tank - The MBT of the European Joint, Panther Tanks damage any vehicle brave enough to crush it.

Intruder- The EJ unique airstrike unit. Intruders have special missiles which can penetrate bunkers and deal more damage to vehicles.

Eastern Front (Specializes on Air Units)
Specialists of Aerial Combat, The EF are able to field the powerful black eagle. And have access to the Tsunami Tank.

Hero Unit:
Sakura - The only airborne Hero Unit, much like the Rocketeer, she has a powerful jetpack allowing her to traverse the terrain easily. She is armed with cluster rockets which are formidable against infantry & vehicles.

Unique Units:

Tsunami Tank - Main Battle Tank of the EF, the Tsunami Tank can cross waters thanks to its adaptive treads which allow it to transform into a amphibious unit another boon is the Tsunami Tank has anti-air missiles. The Tsunami Tank is the lightest of the Allied MBTs but as stated can easily cross waters.

Spectre Gunship - The Spectre Gunship could be considered the Allies take on a heavy bombardment unit. Research into VTOL Aircraft by the Eastern Front has allowed them to create this. The Spectre Gunship can fire powerful cluster missiles which deal powerful damage once they reach their destination.

Black Eagle - The Black Eagle is a cloaked airstrike unit. It also boasts the best armor among the Allied Airstrike Units.

Soviets:

Cyber Dog - The Soviets have revamped their Dog unit. The Cyber Dog is immune to radiation and is the toughest dog among all the 3. Although it is more sluggish than the rest. The Cyber Dog also can fire a powerful EMP Bark that they can use to support Soviet forces.

Tesla Walls - Works like the Laser Fences but uses Electricity instead.

Propaganda Tower - Heals units within its radius.

Giant Squids are moved to Yuri and the Soviets get the Sea Drone, Robot Units that have a short range Tesla Cannon.

Agent - Soviet Espionage Units, The Soviet is armed with a Tesla Bomb which explodes should he be killed or upon command.

USSR
The main force of the Soviets. The USSR have access to Tesla Technology and advanced cybernetics.

Hero Unit: (Pending)

Tesla Tank - The Tesla Tank is much more sturdier now, fulfilling the role as either a heavy assault unit. It's Bolts now arc over walls.

Terror Drone - The Terror Drone has become an exclusive unit to the USSR. The Terror Drone now implements a Miniature Iron Curtain Device, which slightly damages the Drone but grants it short invulnerability.

The Dominion specialize on Demolition & Guerilla Warfare


Imperial Nations (Specializes on Nuclear Units)

Yuri:

Enlightened (Specializes on Psychic Units)

The Cabal (Specializes on Yuri's twisted brand of Science)

Those vxls and shps look really awesome, your drawings are cute to. :3

Your Yuri heads look awesome but has a bunch of black dots all over it, make sure the vxl isn't hollow. (well I think that's what causes that anyway :x)

Heh forgot I had a topic here.

Well I've started a 3rd revision on Colony Wars again this time a more proper and unrushed approach is now taken in. I've been slowly fixing all the Infantry in-game. And yeah all Infantry will be 75% size ala TS.

Some New or if I may like to prefer updated reincarnations of some units.

The fixed Howitzer is the Allied T2 Siege Unit. Comparable to the Soviet V3 Launcher or Yuri's Magnetron.

One of the great things about removing projectiles on some units... for example... I was able to restore the Flak Trooper's Crawl Frames.

Introducing the new Voxel for the Allied Robot Tank. These bad boys are exclusive to the European Union and replace the Battle Drone for them. Robot Tanks are armed with heavy AP Rounds making them both effective against infantry and vehicles.

Been busy this last few days... Finally made Full Remap Walls for the Allies. Thanks to Starkku i don't need to make the Snow Versions.

Soviet Walls also have full remap now. Just need making the Snow Version.

Introducing the Dominion's T1 Naval Unit. The Piranha WaveRunner. WaveRunner for short. These Water-based Vessels are armed with a makeshift Autocannon which may not pack a punch can fire off quickly and can be used for shore bombardment or for engaging other naval units. They come cheap and as expected aren't the toughest unit in the naval force of the Soviets can be built in massive quantities to swarm an enemy force.

Yuri's Star Gazer. These Soldiers are armed with Laser Cannons. Much like the Rocketeer they use jetpacks to fly around the battlefield.

Some new stuff...

 

One of the Unique Defenses for one of the Soviet Factions. The Secret Police. The Assault Bunker has twice the health of a battle bunker and cannot be raided. It can also allow almost any type of infantry to garrison it. (I.E: Chrono legionnaires, Acolytes or even Crazy Ivans)

Next up is Yuri's Miner Unit. The Hover Miner can double its armor when attacked. It is also the fastest moving miner and as the name implies it hovers allowing it to move through both land and sea. *Voxel is still a WIP

Small Graphical Tweak... While Guardian GIs already use a laser on their Deployed Missile Launcher I've added a laser line to their actual graphics when deployed to further increase their uhh... Coolness Factor?

Yuri has a new support power. Tib-X Strike. The Support Power drops a Chemical Bomb which releases poison clouds as well as mutating any human infantry on impact into Visceroids. Cameo from Speeder & Voxel from Mevitar

Yuri's Zealots have had a graphics/stats update. They no longer wear heavy armor but instead like the Initiate have much stronger damage output but costing the most.

The Juggernaut now claims their old graphics. (Railgun Infantry that replaces the Virus for the Cabal Order Faction)

The Berserker Tank is the new MBT of the Chaos Cell. These drugged up Tanks can increase their firepower the longer they fire. At the max high they start to disregard defense and just go all out offense (-25% Armor +50% Firepower)

Exclusive to the Secret Police, The Assault Bunker replaces the Battle Bunker offering increased durability as well as allowing almost every infantry to garrison inside it be it Soviet,Allied or Yuri.

Credits to Mevitar for the Voxel. The Hydra Transport is a unique Unit of the Soviet Army replacing the Mobile War Factory. The Hydra Transport comes armed with 2 105mm Cannons & HE Rockets the Hydra Transport can also carry up to Size 6 Units. (Thats MCVs,Battle Fortresses,Masterminds & Apocalypse Tanks for some examples)

Hello again fellow modders,lurkers, & CnC Fans with the coming of September comes some more updates to Colony Wars. A Partial Conversion Mod for Yuri's Revenge - Enhanced by Ares that adds in new toys for the original 3 Sides as well as adding a fourth playable side. The Colony (A group of mutant creatures originally only encompassing Giant Mutant Ants from Red Alert 1 now including a more varied army as well)
 
 
So currently I don't have my laptop which has all the files of Colony Wars so this update will be the only one for a long while...
 
Non-Graphical Updates/Changes:
 
- The Bradley FV now changes Weapons depending on its Driver much like the IFV from RA2. However instead of a Machine Gun for Basic Infantry it gains instead an upgraded Cannon.
 
- The Psychic Beacon is now the Equivalent of the Grand Cannon for Yuri. Being able to mind control enemy units permanently but suffering from a long cooldown. Like the Grand Cannon Beacons have a build limit of 3.

Finishing the list of unique MBTS for each of Yuri's Factions is the Vampire Tank (Working Name) for the Cabal Order.

The Vampire Tank leeches off energy from enemy vehicles whenever it fires its cannon to heal itself.

The M113 APC or "APC" by the Allies. The APC is available in Campaign as enemies for the Colony for their Campaigns (Once they get a fully functioning Side) or as controllable units by the Player for the Allied Campaign. They will be available as Crate Goodies in Skirmish/Multiplayer

The Allied Ranger returns as a playable unit exclusive to the Eagle Command as their replacement for the IFV. Sacrificing some Armor for Maneuverability. Pictured is its Machine Gun Mode although the Ranger will come armed with a Rocket Launcher like the IFV by default however.

Voyager replaced by Galleon (Has 15 Passenger Space,Omnicrusher, Armed with 2-Inch Cannon)
 
Raider Ops:
Gunboat replaced by Dolphin (Underwater, Cheaper, Self-Healing)
 
Eagle Command:
Aircraft Carrier replaced by Battleship (Attacks cannot be shot down, Inaccurate)
 
The Voyager is just renamed Allied Hovercraft. The Voyager is the fastest among the Naval Yard Transports.
 
The Galleon replaces the Voyager for the Defense Initiative. It comes armed with a 2-inch Cannon much like the Gunboat and can crush certain land vehicles should it do so opt to fight on land after it has unloaded its load. It however doesn't come with Naval Sensors so Gunboats or Destroyers are still usually a must for escorts.
 
Colony Wars is looking for some Voice Actors for voicing some new units as well as some capable 3D Modelers to help speed up progress on the Assets of the Colony Faction. Drop a PM in Revora or PPM (Atomic_Noodles) or send me a PM here with details/samples if you are interested in helping out.

It's been a busy month for Colony Wars... For those not in the know, Colony Wars is a Partial Conversion Mod for Yuri's Revenge which adds in new units for the original 3 Sides and adds in the Giant Ants now known as the "Colony" as a new side.

So to start things off lets start with a new but old Soviet Unit the Rhino Heavy Tank.

If they look familiar then your eyes aren't fooling you. The Rhino Tank is based on the PreRelease 'Heavy Tank' from Red Alert 2. The Rhino Tank is armed with 2 120mm barrels that gives it a powerful attack and is the MBT of the Soviet Army Faction.

Another familiar unit is the V3 Launcher.

The V3 Launcher has been tweaked slightly that they launch their rockets much faster. The V3 Launcher is the unique Siege Unit for the Soviet Army Faction.

Last but not least for the Soviets is a cousin of everyone's favorite robotic spider. The Jolt Drone

Jolt Drones exchange their cutting tools for a mini tesla reactor that gives them a host of new powers like an electric bolt that short-circuits enemy units. Granting them immunity to EMP and giving them a small EM Pulse Deploy Weapon.

Continuing, We move onto the allied toys.

The Nighthawk has finally gotten its long awaited Voxel Remake.

Aside from the new voxel the Nighthawk has received a slight boost in health.

A new but familiar aircraft (for those who played Tiberian Dawn) joins the Allies in the form of the A-10 Thunderbolt, more commonly known as the "Warthog". The Warthog is unique to the Eagle Command being their dedicated Tier 3 Aircraft.

Introducing a new unit that rivals the Kirov Airship is the Allied Athena Gunship.

Bestowing her own justice with her Glaucus Prism Cannon the Athena Cannon could be considered a flying prism tank. Which she is, however she has a secondary ability called the Athena Beacon. The Beacon allows the Athena to double her range and fire off burning rainbow beams of destruction from an even further distance.

Tanya now has unique snow & desert specific graphics.

The most overly used Unit design also joins Colony Wars.

The Abrams Tank is a Tier 2 (Radar) Tank that is armed with a Machine Gun against infantry and a Cannon against Vehicles & Buildings.

Last but not least is Yuri...

The Grinder had unused animations which were supposed to play. The building now properly plays this and I've also optimized some animations on the Building.

Enlightened are psychics in Yuri's Army who volunteer to have their legs removed and replaced with robotic spider legs similar to the Terror Drone and other cybernetic implants. This gives them improved speed as well increasing their durability. This does come at a price as they also are now vulnerable to EMP Weaponry.

4StarGeneral has been busy working on remaking the Gatling Cannon as well. Wish him luck everyone.

Relic Drones. Robotic Units for Yuri that attack with Lasers. Their Lasers can blow through enemy armor temporarily lowering their Armor. Infantry,Vehicle or Building Alike. (The Armor Piercing Buff cannot Stack)

Prometheus, AKA the Alchemist is the Chaos Cell Hero. Armed with a Chemical Spray and Visceroid Growth Capsules he can spawn visceroids and provide them a healing ring that increases their rate of healing. His Chemical Spray can mutate infantry into more visceroids.

Stryker IFV, A Remake of the Vanilla IFV. The IFV now exclusively uses anti-air rockets by default. It can now carry up to 5 Passengers (Including the Gunner)

Reintroducing the Leopard Tank, formerly known as Jaguar Tanks the Leopard Tank can deploy to hide itself from enemy eyes. (Unless they have a detector unit) The Leopard Tank also comes with Sensor Equipment.

The Old Rhino Tank is back under the new guise of the Saber Tank. These Tanks come armed with a Tesla Rifle that fires periodically allowing it to provide increased Firepower.

Introducing the Termite Drone - A new alternative version of the Drones for the Secret Police. Like the Tiger Tank the Termite Drone can fortify itself increasing its defense while still allowing it to attack enemies with its own new set of weapons, some Machine Guns.

After a long long time of waiting. The Colony finally gets another new unit to their Army. The Giant Worms can carry up to 12 passengers and can crush certain enemy units when not moving through deep underground networks. They can also attack enemy units by biting them.

Somewhat busy, been trying to learn 3D through blender now. No work done of my own yet... but we'll see if I can tough it out.
 
First comes the Allied Stuff...
 
The Allied Gun Turret has received a new... or old look once again.

Allied Kennels are a new structure which much like in RA1 trained Dogs. This case this one trains the Allied Attack Dog. (Which are amphibious)

Next comes the Soviet Stuff...
 
The Soviet Dog Pound functions much like the Allied Kennel providing the Soviets the means of training their Canine Soldiers. This Building also allows the Elite Corp Sub-Faction to train Chitzkoi.

The graphic update on the soviet counterpart. War Dogs may not have the capacity to swim but they are armed with a specially made Flak Vest granting them more endurance in the battlefield. Aside from that they are armed with Amplifiers that allow them to project a powerful bark that can stun and deafen enemy infantry (and rarely pop their ears killing them).

Last comes the newly renamed Yuri Faction, The Syndicate.
 
Reaver Bikes are light assault vehicles armed with Mortar Tubes & Machine Guns. Cheap and easy to amass expect these road warriors to fight on.

And introducing the Buzzsaw. The Buzzsaw replaces the Reaver Bikes for the Chaos Cell. Heavily Armored and amphibious the Buzzsaw isn't no slouch in combat. Like all Grinder Units they can lock enemy units in place as they rip them apart. True to their common motif. Grinders have special canisters inside that detonates delivering toxic gases similar to those of the Virus.

In a couple of months Hecthor Doomhammer and along other people who have access to the mod will do some streaming for Colony Wars.

 

In the mean time here are some updates for the new/old units you may see in the streams...

Replacing the Navy SEAL for the Talon Ops are the Shinobi. Light-footed Assassins who wield sharp shurikens and also are able to throw their C4 instead of planting them up-close like the Navy SEAL.

The Syndicate Mothership gets a facelift as well. Her weapons still unchanged as she can still fire powerful dissintegrator laser alternating between her 3 Turrets.

Introducing the Soviet Army's Second Support Power available from their Palace. The Decoy Army posing as Rhino Tanks & Half Tracks clever Soviet Army Players can use these to sow disinformation in the battlefield or just use them as cannon fodder.

And last but not least are everyone's favorite dumb muscle on Yuri's side are the Brutes. Now available in 2 flavors. The Yellow Brutes come out of the Academy. The Grey Brutes are produced by the Genetic Mutator. (Which now only affects enemy infantry) The Grey Brutes are immune to mind-control and have very little sellback value to discourage people grinding them back for profit.
