okay i got it to work, it literally takes a MASSIVE time to load, literally nearly an hour...it works fine now, and when i play its not slow, runs smoovly, just takes forever to start it up, al is edging on the retarded side, it dosent do anything at all, ships in space battles just stay were they are and their fighters dont move untill their command ships gets blown skyhigh, or would that be space high? how does the AL look in the new version 1.2? does it at least react? rather then just wait to get blown up? that looks to be the only problem with the game, galactic conquest you made so much more complex...which is good, a bit to complex sometimes to figure out what everything does...your manuels should fix that no? is the AL alittle bit smarter when it comes down to moving around in galactic conquest? in battles it dosent do anything, but i havent had enough time to see what it does throughout the days...will it attack you etc..?

From what I can gather about how your computer is acting, you haven't patched Forces of Corruption fully. Go to LucasArts, get the latest update for FoC before you install Phoenix Rising. The AI is completely unresponsive before fully patching FoC. After you patch, the AI should work. And to Ghost, your post just reignited all my anticipation when you said "Just finished the packaging at the moment" Just in time for my Spring break too, timing couldn't be better :D.

Did you patch, then install PR? I think there may be issues if you patch over PR.

no what i did was uninstall both eaw/foc and uninstall pr, then i reinstalled eaw/foc gold pack, went to lucas art and got the most recent update/patches possible, then i re-downloaded another pr, put the pr date into the foc date/replaced the foc data with the pr data, then i go to play-and everything loads fine-other then the long periods to load- and plays fine, except the AL is like a retarded stick...all it does is lay down, but it cant even be a stick right and lay down right...

You shouldn't overwrite the FoC files. PR should be installed into the FoC mods folder, which is in .../Lucasarts/Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption/Mods. Create the folder if it doesn't exist. If you have actually just extracted the PR files into the FoC folder, then you should see a Phoenix_Rising_v1.1 folder in the Mods folder. Then you run the mod from the shortcut provided. If the AI still isn't working, then you'd be better off waiting for the next version of the mod. Also, I hope the "hour of loading" was an exaggeration, because if not you must have a very slow PC that probably can't run the mod properly.

okay can you help me create this mod folder for the foc...that would help greatly also the 1 hour was an exxageration-it was at most 5 minutes, but looking at a screen for 5 mintues can seem like hours--galactic conquest the 15o-sum planet one took 5 minutes to get, the game itself takes around 1-2 minutes to get going and skirmish mode takes 30 secs to start battles in galactic conquest around 1 min to start

Yes, that's just the way it is I'm afraid. We have improved it a lot in v1.2. As for making a mod folder, you should be able to just extract the v1.1 zip file into .../Lucasarts/Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption and it will create a Mods folder.

Thanks! Yeah, we are very careful about every aspect. You would not believe the sizes of spreadsheets Ghostrider puts together.

i think i could, the only thing that i can't believe the size of the universe, imagine this our galaxy is estimated to have some 20 billion stars, and their is an estimated to be around 1000 planets that have intelligent life like us on it, and around 1 million planets that can support life...then their is likely to be around 20 billion or so galaxys, all ranging in size...with a small of a couple million stars to an estimated 40 billion stars...now when you look at the sky at night where its perfectly clear and you are isolated from any outside light souce for hundreds of miles and you look up, you see thousands of stars...but you still see dark space....in that dark space if you take a picture of it for 10 days with the hubba scope, what i mean by 10 days is that you constatly flood light, like a flash from a camra, constantly to one singular point, you will see close to 100 galaxys in that small point, that is like you looking up at the sky and the size of that point would be of an extremly small bacerial thing going on that you cant see unless using a high power microscope, the universe is the only thing i think us humans can not even begin to comprehend...oh and the closest star to us is 4.5 light years away...and if we ever are capleble of going at the speed of light it well will take us 4.5 years to get to someplace that likely wont have any life- that is why we will NEVER see alien life, unless it is possible to go faster then the speed of light-considerbly faster...because it would be unethlical to go to something soooo far to see life

that was completly random but i just dont like hearing people say you can believe the size of something lol

but yea really congrats to you guys for making this game SOOOOO much better and really going into the actual potential of the game...you guys are what make games GREAT, rarly do you see a game reach its potential...you guys look to be acheving that potential

You need to change the shortcut so that it points to the right folder. It's set up to point to a standard retail FoC install, not the gold pack. Right click on the shortcut, and in the "Target" box, change the "C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\swfoc.exe" MODPATH=Mods\Phoenix_Rising_v1.1 so that the LucasArts part onwards is correct. (swfoc.exe is the FoC program). You also need to change the "Start in" box in the same way so that "C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption" points to the folder with swfoc.exe in it.

....................i do not like this mod....:( lol jk, ima just wait till vs1.2 this is to big of a headache do u know if vs1.2 will be updated to have a "shortcut" for the gold pack? as of yet? if soo this will help SOOO much, i get the mod to work by replacing the data, BUT, by doing that the AL wont work, so i need to keep the original FOC data, and add in the mod in a seperate "mods" folder thing, and then by activating the shortcut it should allow me to play with the mod and allow the al to work no? but without using the shortcut, the mod itself with not do anything to the game , unless i replace the data. a.k.a this is a big ass headache and i am willing to wait till vs1.2 comes out of which should come out in the next few weeks no?

You don't have to use the shortcut. You CAN create a batch file to run the mod. If you want to do that, right click in the folder with swfoc in, add a new text file, (New -> text file) call it something like "run PR". Open it, and write in:

swfoc MODPATH=Mods\Phoenix_Rising_v1.1

then go save as... in the file type box choose "all files" and name the file run PR.bat

Now when you double click on this .bat file it should run the mod.

I'm glad you could get it to work. It is quite late in the UK, but it's the weekend so I'm not too worried.
