I downloaded just fine but when I try to start the game it goes to the menu loading screen, and it stays there for a minute or two before completely exiting out, no notification or anything. My disc shattered in my drive so i'm running a crack, do I need to get another copy of the game and re-install to play?

It's possible. I don't have any experience with a cracked FoC, so I can't really say. Could be that your hardware isn't up to the task too.

I run the cracked version too and I have no problems. Check that there are no XML or Scripts folders in your FoC Data folder (FoC data folder is in the same place as swfoc.exe)

I've been having a similar problem right now. for some reason the game cant recognize the origional disc, even though i installed with it yesterday, and the game worked fine. Maybe I was supposed to do somthing to the vanilla game first?

edit: it is the fault of the base game. must be because of windows 7. But i thought PR 1.2 had an integrated fix for windows 7?

There isn't really a "fix" for Windows 7; it's just a fix for 64 bit systems with more than 2GB of RAM. That's included with PR 1.2, and the LucasArts patch that implemented the fix conflicts with the mod.

What do you mean by Scripts folders?

There may be a folder called Scripts that was installed due to another mod that edited AI.

If you can't find it, you're good.

I have a relatively fresh install of Empire at War and Forces of Corruption. I have a 2.8ghz processor with turboboost that bumps it up to 3.3ghz if the computer needs it. I also have 8 gigs of ram and a 3 gig Nvidia graphics card. The game installed fine. When I run it through the shortcut it loads up, the PR icon sits for about a minute. Soon as the game says its loading PR crashes and it says Forces of Corruption stopped working. I have it installed to my Forces of Corruption/Mods folder.

I too have a fresh install of EAW Gold, with no other mods and am getting the same thing. I have no XML folders to delete, and the shortcuts are pointed where they should be.

Okay, so it seems to possibly be an issue with the gold pack. Can you guys actually run vanilla FoC? If not, install the Lucasarts RAM fix and the compatibility patch we've released here: http://www.moddb.com...t-ram-patch-fix

In fact, try the compatibility patch even if you can run vanilla FoC...it might help.

Having the same problem as described above by by PJ3983 and Madurai, but I'm using a standard disc, not gold pack. I will try to do a fresh install of eaw and foc in a while, I don't have access to the installation disks at the moment, I'm hoping that will fix it. Vanilla Foc runs just fine, by the way.

It really ought to. The team have tested on a number of different machines, so all these crashing on load reports are somewhat unnerving. They just don't make any sense, from what players are telling us about their installations. It may be some inherent problem with the Gold Pack and using meg files to mod it, but in that case you'll never have custom AI without modifying your base FoC installation and messing up other mods like RaW does.

I had the same problems. Fresh game install downloaded PR v1.2 started the game and it crashed right away. i renamed the XML file and now mine works just fine.

The best way to run any mod without interfering with another mod is using a "standalone" install for every different mod you like to play. You need ~1.4 GB of hard disk space for the main game files plus whatever the mod files take disk space, e.g. my PR12 folder is 2.48 GB.
Start off with a fresh install of EaW/FoC and apply any necessary patches.
1. Create a new folder
2. Copy the "Data" and "MSS32" folders from your FoC install in your new folder
3. Copy "binkw32.dll" "EAWXLauncher.exe" "mss32.dll" "PerceptionFunctionG.dll" "swfoc.exe" to your new folder
4. Start the game via swfoc.exe and see if everything works correctly
(5.) Install a mod into your new folder FoC installation. Start with step 1 for another mod and don't alter your original EaW/FoC installation

If you have installed the ramfix patch there will be a gameconstants.xml and a graphicdetails.xml in your Data\XML Folder. Delete those 2 files if you install PR1.2.

All very simple.
Nobody from anyone "with problems" not make clean install
You need uninstall FOC.
After it wipe C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\ manually.
Because after uninstall of game stll remain files from another mods.

After it - as usual
Install FOC
install Path
Install NoCD (who need it)
Install PR
Who have "Non-English" language of game need copy C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\Mods\Phoenix_Rising_v1.2\Data\Text\MasterTextFile_ENGLISH.DAT to MasterTextFile_RUSSIAN.DAT or MasterTextFile_GERMAN.DAT and etc
