Hi there,
I'm not really sure if this counts as a bug because I seem to remember that the heroes mechanic is complicated but how come I can call some of them into a space battle from the reinforcements bar (like Leia with Rebel Dream) and others apparently not (Ackbar with Home One). Is this an intended difference or is something not working right? I was playing Operation Skyhook.
Also, now after playing v1.2 for some time I have to say this again: awesome job, people.

Well, in that case thanks for making it better.
I always used the vanguard slot and I always missed that reinforcement option. Currently I'd say that I am able to call in 3/4 of the heroes, including all elite fighter squadrons I think. Do you know how I could distinguish the working and non-working heroes (like to look in their files or something)? Would be helpful to know which heroes will be stranded on the edge of the system for the whole battle.
Oh, and does that mean that without using the vanguard slot my heroes will work?
edit: I don't have a lot of time to play but I'll try to make a list of the heroes that don't work. Maybe this could give you an idea what was changed in that regard.

im kinda surprised that having all the heroes running around in the same battle actually worked. i had Han with the Falcon, Garm with the Elgos, Tycho with the Bail, Leia with the Dream, Ayfon with the Larkess, Bria with the Retribution, Mon Mothma with the New Hope (i think thats what it was called), and Wedge with Lusankya (finally, although i kinda liked the image of her with the Star-birds on her flanks), the game slowed down for a bit, but still worked. there were other heroes there, but i dont remember their names.
relevance: having so many heroes with so much hardware works if you send them all in at the same time

Heroes aren't meant to cost 0 tactical population - that's a bug with the engine implementation of hero transports, it seems.
It could be because Daala isn't a real ground hero (yet), unlike all the Rebel pilots. We're really hamstrung by the lack of a character modeler at this point .

Veers had the same problem in vanilla EaW and FoC.Heroes aren't meant to cost 0 tactical population - that's a bug with the engine implementation of hero transports, it seems.

Sorry to pick this up after such a long time and sorry again for not having made the above mentioned list yet. I'll get to it eventually
I'm writing because I noticed (haven't found earlier topics on it) that I cannot, as an example, call in Home One as reinforcements, but I can the Rebel Dream. What's interesting is that Ackbar (32 pop points stated) doesn't use up the pop cap (as PR mentioned above) but Leia does (16, if I recall correctly).
Can the issues of them working with reinforcements and using population points be connected?
edit: On a side note: Has it been posted already that in Shadow Hand I have the E-Wing Mark 2 already researched yet I can research the prototype once more? After trying to upgrade the newly researched prototype the upgrade icon ends up in orbit as a unit...
