There are already a number of minor officers available as starting forces in campaigns, but beyond that I don't think we intend to bring back minor officers as units to be trained.

Phoenix Rising, head of mapping. Thanks to everyone who got us to the position below!

Ok - here's the update for V1.2
Officers are not buildable but are found in starting forces only.
Our take is that officers are exceptional, but not in the same league as Heros.
Officers are almost non-existent in GFFA era, and Operation Skyhook is mostly heroes, so you won't find many officers there either.

Thrawn Offensive and Operation Shadow Hand have quite a few Officers in both ground and space forces, mostly at the key trade worlds or important strategic or military worlds, especially those with an Academy or two.

Imperial Officers as follows:
Army Officer
Stormtrooper Officer
Navy Officer
Navy Pilot Officer

And for the Rebels
SecForce Officer
SpecForce Officer
Fleet Officer
StarCom Officer

One thing to note: Officers don't have any bodyguards, so if put into a firefight on the ground, they die just as quickly as your basic trooper.

Anyone with Soldier 0 still gets x10 hitpoints, so not just as quickly, but pretty close.

OK, so I understand the reason for introducing these officers... and it seems that the best way of keeping them alive is to put them into the command ships (in case of space forces) or into heavy land vehicles (like AT-ATs, for example).

Yeah. Some of it is also to provide bounty hunter fodder.
