not entirely sure what to make of this, but i loaded up the game and i couldnt use the mouse to move up or to the left in the game, on either galaxy map, or either of the combat modes. arrow-key movement was not affected. this was fixed by changing the resolution and putting it back to its previous setting.
possible interface issue

I had the same problem after Alt-Tabbing out of the game, so I closed all other windows that were open in the background (Windows 7 x86) and after alt-tabbing back into the game one more time it worked again. Not sure which way is faster though ;-)
