Hi Folks, it's me again.
I just finished my second mission for Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty, and it has the fancy name "Shakin' Heavy Hands." The title is based on the missions target: To destroy a Karl-Gerät siege mortar, which currently lies in open field, due to engine damage.
Like my first mission, this one was created in around 1 week too. I didn't had to learn the tools this time (though, I had to learn how to prevent certain bugs to appear...), so more time was actually spend on the mission, than trying to figure out how everything works. The new mission is quite a bit bigger than the first one and also a tad harder to beat. Also I'd say the overal quality of this mission is better, but I'll let you guys judge that... (And I did 200% more bug testing, just to be sure.)
The Karl-Gerät 3D model which is used in the map was not made by me. I took it from sketchup.google.com and was unable to find the name of the author. Also, as the model wasn't textured, I had to paint over it by hand (as I really don't know how to use Google's Sketchup properly and porting the 3d model into a different format didn't worked out well). I am not quite happy about how it turned out in the mission, but I'll guess it's better than not having it at all... When it comes to totally new stuff, I am just not a graphic guy.
Installation:
In order to make this mission work, you will have to extract the war_mp.dir content into the games folder. You can use the DirExtractor for that. After the extraction of the files, the war_mp.dir must be renamed to something else.
To install the mission, just run the installer and chose your Commandos: BTCOD (coman_mp) game path. The installer will patch the MISIONES.DAT file in "DATOS\MISIONES\", so that "Panzerzug to Neverland" will always be the first mission to play when you start a new game. If you have finished the mission, the game will continue with the next available mission (usually the main games content).
This mission isn't overwriting any existing files. So if you don't want to play / see it anymore, just run the uninst.exe or open up the MISIONES.DAT file in DATOS\MISIONES\ with a text editor and remove the "[ .FICHEROMISION LEXX0002.MIS .HTIT 3M00 ]" line. Save the file and it's done.
