There is no problem playing random maps on singleplayer skrimish, however when playing on a generated random map with friends on network we always get the reconnection error. I checked every possible modification of a random map and still get the reconnection error 5 seconds after the game has started.

P.S. Can you give me (if possible) instructions on how to listen to the RA2 OST when playing Mental Omega?

About the Recon Error, it may be that random maps have difficulty on loading for each user, i think one user receive datas more slower than another, or simply internet problem (check your internet status), but maybe I'm wrong.
And for Original RA2 OST, you need the original OST Mix file, but i think it isn't compatible with MO 2.0.

It is compatible. MO manual explicitly stated that to rename theme.mix into expandmd96.mix to make it running.
