So you're forcing people to watch 30 seconds of intro videos?

I guess four mods wasn't enough. Anyway, who made those intro videos?

You may also want to consider learning how to map models properly if you're going to reskin/kitbash stock meshes. Another thing, but this is more of a personal opinion of mine, is that your tech tree looks too generic. If you're going to make a mythical Greek faction, why not read up on, say, Homer's epics and try to extract some details on warfare from there? Right now your faction has every BFME2 gameplay niche covered, which, to me, is boring.

Oh look another mod involving Ridder Geel...

The structure skins look a bit dull.
I'd recommend using a different colour/font scheme the Black and White ringbearer has been done before.
The intro videos look cool just make sure they are skipable.

I'm only in there because he asks me for help, and sometimes i find the time to help him.
What do you mean with that sentence anyways?
To me, i may be mistaken, you are saying that I am encouraging Apollo (and ppl from FB2G) to go around making random mods or whatever, this is far from the truth.
But then again I may be wrong, please enlighten me, and let me know what you meant with that sentence. Because really, the tone I "receive" from that sentence is not one that I can appreciate.

No, I clearly said for those that wanted to see them. You did not HAVE to watch them. :D

As for in game. They wont be part of the MANDATORY parts of watching. They will be optional so you could SKIP them in game if you wanted to.

I guess four mods wasn't enough. Anyway, who made those intro videos?

I made the videos with my awesome editing skills and video making skills. haha.

I have read all about the zi Greeks. My plan was to actually just build like EA would of and then add my own unique touches at the end. Also note that the specific faction is revolving around the Gods not the way they built structures. It suppose to looks kind of old style yet with a tint of futuristic style (which is why i used Wood and Stone.)

Now as for the 4 projects thing. I am working on From Book to Game (1), a side Minecraft Project (2) which will take a long time to complete, which i am taking a lot of time on. Lastly this Project. So, you were close :D but its only 3. PLUS seeing as Unknown has been inbetween inactive/away/here. Its harder to do work on FB2G.

Yes, they will be skipable. As for the colors, they look a lot better IN GAME. I agree they look a little to dark in the screens.

What do you mean by: "the Black and White ringbearer has been done before."

-------------

@Everyone Else-

I am still adding my own unique things to BFME II. Some of the UNIQUE features are the mapping system and the unit system (which i am still planning out).

Also, please note that the pictures do not show ALL the detail due to the fact that my computer cant take GREAT pictures.. I am sorry for that.

And the complete last thing is this:

I just noticed that you plan to have a good faction containing Rohan (and others) and an evil faction containing Harad (and others), and also seperate Rohan and Harad factions. Why?

Here's an idea: Why not stick to your title, Age of the Gods, and do ONE faction, your Olympians. That sounds far more interesting, feasible, original, and expandable. Maybe you could one day do a second faction that revolves around a different pantheon to oppose the Olympians (Norse, Chinese, Egyptian, Indian, etc).

I was actually playing with that idea Mathijs. But the reason i am adding Rohan AND Harad is because there is already buildings for them in game. To be honest i have no idea for the second faction. I like Romans. So maybe ill do the Roman counter part. Romans having darker colored buildings. Greeks lighter color. Then have a different set of heroes for the Romans. hmm.. I will see what i can do with that idea. Thank you for it.

I will probably be keeping the original factions so people can test against them. Then once both are AI'ed up then i will delete the others. Its just that i dont like working on my Olympian faction ALL the time. i like switching between them but we will see.

This however is not an idea thread :D this is me applying for hosting.

RG seems to be the only person with enough time to do what he does. But just disregard me butting in.

Valinor?

What are you on about, MtL?

Also, Apollo,

the Black and White ringbearer has been done before

Rad means the fact that you're using the Ringbearer font in black, which has been used before; as in, try something unique.
I mean, to be fair, FB2G's got the movie font effect for its logo, so that's unique.

Just to note, guys, Apollo and I are also currently attempting to implement a new system for the mod regarding naval battles. We'll give you more details at a later date.

Ap as in Apollo im guessing. Thank you for the compliment. I will also agree that my attention span is not the BEST.

Valinor was a suggestion. It's very pantheon in the far west of Middle-earth.

Ok, so i have decided that i will do what Mathijs so kindly suggested. I will be getting rid of all the factions except the Olympian Faction, Which will be renamed to:"Greeks". The second faction will be named: "Romans".

There will also be 2 other factions with LOADS of new maps to incorporate the 2 other factions. Hint: It has to do with sea warfare. That is all the information i will give you about that for the time being.

Update.

Introducing the 2 Naval Factions. Yes, that's right I said "Naval" as in sea warfare.

What is Naval Warfare?

Naval Warfare is the kind of warfare at sea. So, ships fighting other ships to gain dominance.

What?! Factions?! What be this madness?!

Yes, we are creating 2 whole Naval Factions. To incorporate these new factions there will be a set of ships that the Good Naval and the Evil Naval will have.
Here is a small list of the type of ships we have planned.
  • Flagship (Acts as Fortress)- builds Guard ships, builds Hero ships, builds construction ships
  • Flagship Guard
  • Construction ships - builds armoury ships, trade ships, Battleships, Longboats, suicide ship, long-range ship
  • Armoury ships - Research in upgrades here for as long as this ship lives
  • Trade ships - acts like a farm/inn
  • Battleships - like vanilla BFME2
  • Suicide ship - like vanilla BFME2
  • Long-Range ship
  • Longboats
Also, The Flagship WILL be movable.

So, this will give the player the ability to move around the map easily, but could also be dangerous, we dont know what lurks in the murky deeps of the water...

There will be only ONE Fortress. No being able to build new ones. So, once you lose it, its over, end of game.

There will be a set of 5 - 10 new maps for these factions to play on. There will be more with each release.

----------

Also, in case you need me to be more CLEAR.

The factions are completely based on ships. No units what so ever. These factions can ONLY be played on the specially made maps.

----------

One map is near completion done by myself. As for pictures of the ships, FellbeastIII will be posting them momentarily.

CREDIT FOR THE NAVAL WARFARE IS BY: FELLBEASTIII.
CREDIT FOR ALL THE CODE FOR THE NAVAL WARFARE IS BY: {IP}APOLLO.

THIS IDEA MAY ALSO BE IMPLEMENTED IN FB2G (with Unknowns consent).

True. But, I will be using different Gods for each. For example:

Ill use Mars in the Romans and to counter him ill use Zeus. They will have the same amount of heroes. Just different Gods. and buildings and units

And from what I've seen of Geel's updated RC Mod, Things look very promising

So any mod with Geel in, naturally I would be interested.

Looks great Apollo, the new EA logo looks great, as well as the olympic fortress.
