Did we have an irc channel?


I haven't used IRC in ages because I am too lazy to download another chat client. But having it integrated into the revora site as a web-client might have been good. Get people who normally don't talk to each-other to talk about stuff.

Probably been mentioned before but I'm just repeating it to plant the seed again

Are you really sure a bit of window dressing and forum reorganising will be all it takes revitalise things?

You need a reason for more people, old and new, to come here. A little market research, or finding a new niche, might be in order.

On the contrary, I'm sure reorganising will be far from enough to create more activity. It's obvious that we need a new, active Division. In the mean time, some facelifting can't hurt, however.

The most important thing is activity simply put we need to put in more work on mods,post more often and all that.
Plus there's other suggestions being made in other places on this matter.
In my opinion our best bet of rebuilding Revora is to upgrade it in a major way and promoting the sites more.
The way it should be is Revora is the main site where we get people in the same applying to the division sites.
The forum should then be used to discuss the stuff they see on the main site.
Other divisions like the Creativity section should also have websites.

That's all fine and dandy, but who's going to create all those sites and features? You?
The problem with all those "big project" plans is that someone needs to actually do them. This takes both skill and time, both of which we lack at the moment. I'd rather focus on more simple, realistic suggestions. Small steps and all.

Because right now the forum main page is just needlessly long, designed for some huge community that we don't have. This would reduce it to a minimum.

I've been thinking about this and I generally agree. The problem with merging forums is that it's irreversible. If we ever want to split sections up again, we'd have to sort all the topics by hand. We should keep the subforums where easily finding things is more important than activity (for example tutorials or the like).
How's this for a suggestion:
