Can't believe I didn't see this earlier.
Anyhow, Phil, your parts list was good. I don't see anything I would really change except perhaps a BluRay drive instead of DVD and a better speaker setup. But if you're good with computer speakers like that, those will be just fine.

Anyway, wouldn't be able to change the parts list any more because the computer is already assembled. I've installed both OS X and Windows 7 so far and it seems to work like a charm Before I can definitely make the switch I'll have to spend some hours transferring data and reinstalling software though, which I dread. Migrating my Windows install will be a pain because I've installed so much developer stuff on my old machine...

Actually OS X is Unix and borrows heavily from FreeBSD
