No ideas what could trigger, yes on what have been changed.
Wait... Win7... yes on what could trigger as well.
Yuri's Revenge installs it's registry into HKLM/Software/Westwood/Yuri's Revenge. Win7 brought in a HKLM mirroring (I still have XP and it was only once when I read about this) that every user have thier own HKLM/Software registry keys and even some are only available when you run the computer with admin access.
Since NPSE checks for registry, I'd suggest that's what got messed up.
