Good evening everyone.

I have decided to release the current version of Shadow and Flame to the (limited) public here at T3A, because the mod isn't moving very quickly and I thought perhaps some of you might enjoy playing a new (albeit highly unfinished) evil faction.

This alpha is made up of a basically playable Gundabad faction, containing the following:

- Basic units (Gundabad Orcs and Moria Orcs)
- Wolf-pack unit
- Hill Troll unit
- Moria Cave Troll unit
- Some tier 1 and 2 spellbook powers
- Custom buildings for every unit
- Unit upgrades
- Bolg, son of Azog, complete with a couple of powers
- 2d art for most things

What the alpha does not contain:

- A bug-free playing environment
- A complete experience of the planned Gundabad faction
- Up-to-date implementation of said planning
- Complete unit roster
- Complete building roster
- Complete hero roster
- Complete spellbook

All in all, I'd reckon the mod is about 25 to 40% complete, depending on which version of the plan I go by. I would appreciate it if those that play could report glaring bugs and problems (so no posts stating that something is missing, I know all about what is missing).

Also, if anybody is interested in working with me on a fairly slow basis to further complete this mod (I need a decent coder), you can post here as well. Unknown, if you read this and have time, feel free to contact me.

Screenshots etc. are also welcome, as are any other questions.

Installation is old-fashioned, just put the .big in My Battle for Middle-earth Files and make a shortcut with -mod SaF.big added to the target.

PS: I'm sorry for not adding the cool T3A hosted video into the mod, I have no idea how to do this since I am not a coder.

Enjoy.

I think I'll take a look :)

edit: played a short game, was actually pretty refreshing to have orcs and other foul creatures at my command again :p
But you know me; I say I'll help, and I'll help for a week. So I'll refrain from helping you out this time :p

Really, a week of help would probably get a whole lot done. Provided it is a whole week, of course. All the tedious stuff is done. :p

Really good so far, love the hill trolls. I could probably help out with any maps that need making.

The game I played was great. The faction is already well rounded, but I can't wait to see more content.

I'd love to try this out if I have time!

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

Pretty sweet, it's refreshing to have a new Evil faction to play with. I'll install it tonight and get some feedback to you.

Ok just go to your : C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth Files and place the BIG file in there.
Then go to your BFME shortcut on your desktop and copy it rename it to SAF or whatever you want and in the Target section you'll see :
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth ™\lotrbfme.exe"
Change it to :
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth ™\lotrbfme.exe" -mod Saf.big

Please read the first post in this topic; the mod is in alpha stage and thus very much unfinished.

alright so i set that as the path, but it doesnt sense anything with a space before it. so when i click on the shortcut, it takes me to the C: folder. it is pissing me off SO much.

Make sure its your address and not the one he posted. Just add "-mod Saf.big" to the end of the target. You don't even have to make a new shortcut you can use your original one and just  add ";" to the start of "-mod Saf.big" anytime you want to the normal version of the game.

No. The path is the path to the original game, only with this added at the end:

-mod Saf.big

So basically, you can just make a shortcut to the original game, then add (at the end):

-mod Saf.big

to the Target paramter in the shortcut.
