Ground complements attached to starships

PR,

I would like to see an ISD carrying its canon ground complement in addition to transports and fighters. I.e. when you have an ISD in orbit for a ground battle you automatically have those units present.

Preferrably I'd like to be able to load ground complements onto ISDs so that they could move at the ISDs hyperrate vice the standard no-hyperdrive rate.

Are either of these possible?

This is a little crazy, but you could try adding platoons to the ship's Space_Escort_Unit_Types list. 50-50 whether the engine recognizes them in a ground battle.

You can only have the second part if you're willing to accept no restrictions on cargo space. The engine will not check whether the ship or fleet can reasonably carry the attached ground units, plus true hyperdriveless units cannot retreat ever. I finally gave in with TIE heroes and put them all on shuttles due to issues cropping up with retreats; figure their ships are meant to be identical and they can scrounge a ride anywhere.

Yeah... there are phantom tags related to squadron/troop carrying capacity, but they do nothing.

Is there a possibility to deny certain units to be identified as available for transport?

If it's hard then it's worth doing.

The "carrying" behavior only kicks in when hyperdrive is turned off.

What I meant was that's the only method of denial. Probably not what you were looking for, since adding hyperdrive makes them part of the fleet and factors into the hyperspeed multiplier consideration.
