So, now I have a little time for modding (finally!) I present to you the Tower of Sorontil, which will appear in the Sorontil snow map, from the northernmost peninsula of Numenor, Forostar. This will be capturable only, and gives a massive vision boost to the owner to reveal most of the shroud on the map.

It could use some edging at the top of the walls instead of going straight to the dome.
Other than that looks good.

Since my last post, I've corrected that, Rad. Can I call you Rad?
Anyway, progress has been slow due to my moving everything necessary to my new flashy laptop, which is 64-bit, so I've had to replace or compensate for some lost 32-bit programs. Pfeh, horrible job, but worth it. Firstly, I've got a Black Numenorean Forge, which, unlike this here render, will have a particle emitter similar to that of the Goblin Cave in the natural entrance.

Personally, this isn't my favourite model of the faction, but that's probably because it was a bugger to map the UVs for.

I also have in store for you all a set of walls, including a hub, segment, gate and tower. They're quite cool-looking, if I do say so myself, but they're not finished texturing so I'll post 'em tomorrow.

OK, have the walls done as a happy surprise, they took less time than expected.Posted Image

Note that the Wall Hub (bottom picture) may yet have an upgrade to put a trebuchet atop it.
Also, to those here more reserved than others, the textures (most notably seen on the wall hub) are actually better quality than those the render displays, for reasons I don't understand.

Good to see that you're stepping away from doing those over-the-top renders for your last couple of models. I like those walls, the way the extrusions vary in height and appearance.

Nice stuff you have there. I like all, but the doors on the hubs. Seems silly that an attacker could go after the gate or the doors (not functional) on the wall hub. Maybe instead have it be a shelf with a statue set inside?

That's a good point, actually, I'll definitely implement that 'un.

Took another look at these recent models and I realized how excessive the bump mapping is, especially on the wall extrusions (for lack of a better description). Not sure if you cranked it up just for the render, but if you're going to put this ingame I would decrease it by a fair margin.

Actually, no, there isn't any bump map at all, I just highlight the higher faces and burn the lowers, because no matter what map you're on, the sun's always going to be at the top, so it seemed logical to do so.

You've overdone it though, large parts of it look like they've been wrapped in plastic.

Looks cool, but maybe use a different background, it's to bright imo. In-game screenshots would be nice too.

OK... since I've been having a great time doing exams (and still am, but it's Sunday, so I've got time now) I haven't modded or posted much.
So, I've had to go with what I've got instead of waiting till its complete.
This is one of the larger parts of Armenelos. I plan to add far more to make it more city-like rather than make something completely designed for fighting and no space for living, as EA seem to have done with most of their fortresses.

And, I've had a school free day, so lots of bits and bobs have been done, some of which is part of Armenelos:

The desing influences are a really nice touch, you seem to have blended your ideas with much of the look of gondor seemlessly. I commend you.
