Hi everyone,

Gamereplays has been working for almost 6 years on what was previously known as the Battletest Patch. This patch was actually promised to become 1.07 many years ago, but we all know that EA never pulled through on that promise and to the contrary, shut down the servers instead. One such Source for this information is http://mevault.ign.c...ry.php?id=33120. I was one of the people whom worked with MaDDoX on the patches in the past. Gamereplays has rightfully completed what EA promised to fulfill to us all those years ago.

Well, after all these years of endless patches, Gamereplays is proud to announce Patch 1.07. This has been used in the competitive scene for years and has had release after release, finally we've pretty much nailed everything we hoped to, mostly in terms of balance and bugs.

This Patch fixes hundreds of bugs from 1.06, thousands of changelog entries, and an extremely polished, finely tuned end result that is highly enjoyable.

Patch 1.07 is BFME2 the way it should have been by EA. This is a finely tuned balance patch with years of trial and testing by the competitive scene.

Gamereplays will be renaming our section to Patch 1.07, from BT2DC soon.

I believe that slowly but surely players will begin to use this patch as the benefits and enjoyment over 1.06 are endless.

I would like to extend a massive thanks to Jus_Sauron & the members of Revora for helping me with Shield Bubble and other low-key Graphics FX that made it into Patch 1.07. You will not be forgotten! :)

Please download the patch from here

Nice stuff. I'm pleased to see that there's still an active community dedicated to improving the game. After the games have been abandoned by EA, it's on us to keep them running. I'm hoping to contribute something to that end myself in the near future :)

As for the patch:

- Some technical details would be nice, especially what files are changed and how. Maybe we can "endorse" this patch by adapting our mods to work with it.

- Don't you think people might be confused if you just call it "Patch 1.07"? It creates the impression that it was created by EA, but people won't find it there...

Technically if there was ever a 1.07, it would have been designed by Gamereplays but Published by EA. So make what you want from that :)

I will work on compiling a singular changelog

Oh just as a FYI- 1.05 and 1.06 werent actually designed by EA either. MaDDoX and Gamereplays did. So, to be paranoid & technical, EA dont even own 1.06, Gamereplays does :)

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. Anyway, I was more concerned about the publishing part, but searching for "bfme2 patch 1.07" with Google leaves no room for confusion.

Yeah, basically what happened was EA rushed GR to push the patch out, and as a result only the main balance changes from 1.04 were introduced. There wasnt any time for fine tuning and such to be done, it was already a massive changelog from 1.04.

Thats why Aragorn, Eagle & Boromir Overpowered stuff and endless bugs exist in 1.06 because it was rushed.

It is sad that the servers and support were shutdown because 1.07 is truly an epic patch

Thanks for pinning Phil!

Well, I'm also working on something for the community (that I don't wish to reveal just yet). You might be in for a treat :)

Glad to see that they got inspired by my (BFME1) 1.04 patch by increasing the FPS  :) .
They were so sceptical at first spamming my topic but when they tested it they went silent  :p

Patch 1.05 is not a balance patch and is therefore very easy to adopt. Unfortunately many players enjoy abusing bugs and imbalances and therefore it is more difficult for the transition from 1.06 to 1.07.

I was talking about the first BFME ...  You must of looked at my signature, Patch 1.05 is the latest of BFME1.

Yes, I'm aware you are referring to BFME1. Your patch does not include any balance changes, hence, I am not referring to BFME2 Patch 1.05.
