Final Alert 2 Help!

Hello guys I'm new to this forum :D!

 

Anyway I was just making maps on Final Alert 2, I was just wondering if there is any way to convert RA2 Maps into Mental Omega maps? If there is please show me how, thanks!

Oh and in Final Alert 2, Mental Omega units names are showed, but they are invisible, if I place the unit there, I can not see the unit but the unit basically exists. I can still see the unit normally when I'm playing the game. Is there any way to make these units visible in Final Alert? Making maps with invisible units are really hard. This only happens to Mental Omega's units and buildings (e.g: Tech Expansion, Epsilon's hero Rahn, Tech Police station, etc), original units from Yuri's Revenge are still visible.

If you know how to solve this problem please tell me, thank you very much :D.

Hi there, and welcome!

 

When you launch Mental Omega 2.0, all files will be placed in your RA2 directory, copy those files.

Make sure 'rulesmd.ini' and 'artmd.ini' are in the directory, so FA2 knows where to look for units and structures used in Mental Omega.

So your directory should somewhat look like this:

 

rulesmd.ini

artmd.ini

ecacheXXmd.mix

expandXXmd.mix

 

Where XX is a number.

I'm not entirely sure what files are used exactly by Mental Omega, but if you keep all of those in your RA2 directory, they should appear in FA2.

Thanks for your reply!

But the problem I'm facing is, the units basically exist, but they just don't show up in FA2. If I put, for example, Gate NS in, the gate is invisible in FA2, but after I've saved the map and get in YR's Revenge( the game ), the gate is visible there. Only modified units faces this problem.

oh and both 

rulesmd.ini and

artmd.ini

are in my RA2 directory!

I also encountered the same problem and the 'artmd.ini' doesn't exists in the directory.
