Hello dear folks, I am known as Madril on Thirs Age Totla War forum, and I  usually work on descriptions for the submod Divide and Conquer.

Today I'd like to share with you my pencil and paper creations, not LOTR related (for most).

Your figures seem to lack joints.

Also cleaner, stronger lines and angles can be really good when drawing stuff like Uruks.

Also look into your facial proportions the eyes should be halfway along the head but yours are where the forehead should be, chin is also long.

Neck is shaped weird as well, necks even the muscular ones are generally straight.

Teeth are odd too they don't follow the regular pattern of teeth, when drawing teeth remember that there is your 2 front teeth then a smaller tooth next to each of them then your canines even when drawing carnivore teeth they generally follow the same structure.

Looking into the mirror is always the best way to figure out drawing people.

Or working off of photos, just be careful to avoid "tracing" because that does not help in any way how to properly mimic proportions.

In contrast, I'd say they aren't bad at all. Not gonna go overboard, because your points are correct, but you guys (Rad, particularly) gotta learn to use a little enthusiasm where it's due, and I'll say they're quite good, but you could indeed use possibly more continuous lines in places. Another thing, maybe you could make more use of shadow to show light direction, as with Kwen's signature girl.

I simply gave my critique/advice.

If he wants to improve those are areas to look at, there are plenty of people who go overboard with the enthusiasm around here and I decided long ago to do the opposite.

Irene is right, you are definitely good. And yes accepting and using critiques will only help make you better.

This is in no means a method to self-promote, but perhaps you could look through my art topic, I have quite a few hand drawn portraits as well as one digital. I also have a slew of Dragons/Wyverns to take a look at for the more "beastly" anatomy.

You can find it here:

You should look at using a darker pencil and/or charcoal to make more defined lines and a cleaner look.

You've improved so keep at it.

Very Nice you've improved from last time, but I think you need to practice arms and torso a bit more.
Try understanding this tutorial.

http://snigom.devian...torial-44397669

I barely have trouble with arms or body proportions anymore, but i can tell you is to practice on your weakest areas more.
(Mine are still teeth and feet)

Deviantart has some amazing artists and a lot of really great tutorials.

It's always so depressing seeing how mediocre my stuff is compared to theirs.

I've learned my way up, maybe I'll post some drawings for you guys to see. I mainly do cartoony stuff but will occasionally do some semi-realistic works.

You're definitely better at drawing animals than people. Do that more, I like it.

Yes I agree with Mathijis, some more landscaping in them would be good to.
